Does anyone know how to book a passenger lap of the ring?

I had a look at trying to book the ring taxi, but it took me to the BMW germany website and said the page no longer existed

If anyone knows how to do this and could give me some advice, that would be greatly appreciated. I've tried googling, but not had much luck.

I don't want to drive my own car, it's a bit expensive to rent a car and drive it myself and I thought it would be cool to get a lap from a fast/experienced driver

Passenger laps are easy, follow these simple steps.

1. Take a helmet.

2. Get talking to someone who looks experienced/is in a car you like.

3. Ask very nicely.

4. Hold on tight.

As for 'Ring taxi, don't know.

^ This!

I'll be there Sunday as it's a short(er) drive from work (Belgium).

You won't have to hold on very tight with me (High 8s at the moment)...

I am going at the start of September. I'm not sure about going up to strangers and don't like annoying people. I'd feel happier if I could book and pay for it

Most drivers there are more than happy to take others out, if not 'Ring taxi it is then.

Dale Lomas would be a good start.

Personally, id advise you to cruise around in your own car at your own pace and let others pass you by. You would then be extremely unlucky to have a mishap on that basis.

yes

Harder to plan, but wet days are great for having a quiet track to learn the ropes.

Why not rent a Swift. That will include third party liability and is cheap as chips with a lowish excess.

Probably uncrashable too in the dry unless you try.

Quiet weekday evening even better.

I will be over with friends in the M3's so feel free to jump in for a few laps with us.Given hundreds of passenger laps over the years between us so it's no inconvenience for us.Cars are kept over there and kept in excellent condition.

I think you can just turn up and pay for Ring taxi ,I was there few weeks ago and asked the prices.......yikes

Can't remember what they were but a lot of money for 8-9 minutes entertainment.

BMWs and an Audi R8 available.

I was there Sunday, had a random American (over here for a conference) asking if I could take him round - I kind of shrugged and did. First time I've ever been asked, my M3 doesn't exactly look like a monster (completely standard apart from brakes)... Still, he enjoyed a mid 8.40s lap, and we had a good chase with a Dutch E36 M3 on the same lap.

Plus, I did an 8.29 PB later on my own when it'd calmed down! driving

Love this place, and I finally got a pic at Pflanzgarten 1... woohoo

I took a random British bloke round once in my Escort Cosworth ,for an unremarkable lap ,would have been 2009 probably.

That's good going - that's as fast as I dare going in the Megane - any quicker and I suspect I'd run out of bravery, or talent, hopefully the former.

Your rear wheels are off the ground, aren't they ?

When you know when you're going, simply post the date here to see if any of us will be there at the time and are happy to give you a ride. I know I would be but not back there before October.

Thanks! thumbup I'm happiest when I get a decent lap in without holdups, hitting apexes and carrying good corner speed - I know the car could do sub 8s in better hands, but I'm quite happy with anything sub 9 - previous PB was 8.52, so I was quite shocked/happy, nothing to do with the Cup 2s, 8 pot calipers and RS29s, honest! whistle

I've got a healthy desire not to tt my car into the armco, so when my arse twitches, I back off...

At least one is, some photographers are there on busy days (Pflanzgarten 1), and thankfully, this guy got me slightly airborne. Obviously, the next lap I was like, 4ft in the air! But he'd moved on... laugh
Whilst hunting for pics of me, I came across this loon: Not for the faint hearted!!! yikes

Most people will offer if you get chatting to them.

If you every get a chance to take a lap in the Ring Mini, don't pass up the opportunity. Its mind blowing!!

If you are talking about the one I think you are, the use of the word Mini is stretching it a bit!
