Total bill for the incident was £175, which was surprising.

The Armco/posts were undamaged, just paid for the marshals time.

Goes to prove that there is a glimmer of humanity in the decision making of the marshals who attend the scene.
Main problem is taking the dry line thru there in the wet. So little grip there. Also once the front wheel makes contact with the curb bump steer takes over and when tied in with the car already rotating it's never not going to end well.

The Marshals where really great, always have a lot of respect for them as i guess they have to deal with their fair share of nobbers.

Yea he was a passenger from very early on, best way to look at it though is apart from his pride being as dented as the car he was totally fine.

Had some great, relatively slow laps on Tuesday afternoon, (only got about 8 in before it closed for the evening)...which was good timing, because there were snow flurries for the last 3 laps!

This was awaiting my passenger when we got back to the car park:

Great day at the Circuit Days trackday last Friday. Had the Apex GT86 for the day which was an absolute blast, alongside an hour of instruction from Misha which was extremely helpful.

Then took my standard GT86 out for a couple of laps early on Sunday to experience the full VLN layout which was good fun. Glad I got there early and got some laps in, there were a lot of red flags out later in the day which really disrupted running. Hope all that suffered incidents that day were ok, some looked quite nasty. Didn't run on Monday in the end, Put simply I wimped out at the conditions and didn't fancy piling my daily driver into the nearest guardrail boxedin

For those who are wondering whether or not a trackday is worth it - Don't mess about and just get it booked.

Watching the trackside video, he was extremely lucky only to have struck the barriers at a glancing blow.

As you say, nice that the resultant bill showed restraint.

Was the VLN available for TF?

Not heard of that before

I`ve done TF where they open up the VLN layout, seems to happen a few times a year.

VLN layout was on Sunday, as they'd had a VLN/RCN race the day before, so as usual they usually leave the layout as it is until they've got some time to reset it.

Yup, it was available on the Sunday (28th).

Track was open yesterday or Saturday on the full 24hr layout, so full GP track and Nordschleife wobble

Anyone going this or next weekend before closing for the winter?

Want to take my e92 M3 pay homage!

Would probably do couple laps in a RWD hire car first then take mine out. I would be concerned in the cold and wet however. Pilot Sports don't like the cold and wet connected to a V8 and LSD.

I'd be more worried about the insurance excess on the rental.

Tenman I'd be more concerned taking a 1800kg, 200hp no lsd diesel bus around in 9.03 ( long drive home didn't want to kill it ) but here we are biggrin be sensible or you'll have a bad time

hehe Word.

Fancy taking my van around for a TF lap, but don't think I'd dare risk it.

True enough I guess. Still good to watch how effortless he is though.
