After my experience, I'd suggest you give them a miss. I haven't actually done one, but there is one at Le Mans this weekend and they asked to borrow the XKSS to put on display. Then they said they couldn't afford to insure it, even as a static exhibit, so could they give me some free tickets instead? Oh, and two parking slots, and free access to a coffee or orange juice. I agreed since it would have been churlish to argue a point already lost. But my insurer would have done it for free, and I don't think they even bothered to get a quote.

Time went by, and the promised tickets have never come, but I understand they have other cars on display. I was shown the details privately. Moreover, they are holding a golf competition at Mulsanne, and I was shown the email that the caterer received from them. The prize-giving drinks and nibbles are not to exceed £3 per head. That is going to be one hell of an evening.

Frankly, the track days I have seen are getting more and more expensive and provide less and less value. I used to pay £250 for the whole day at Goodwood, but in this event on the little Bugatti circuit they want €400 for two 20 minute sessions. Yes, you read correctly. Or you can pay twice for two days if you feel flush.

You might gather that I am a little peeved at their cavalier attitude, but nevertheless, a little courtesy goes a long way. The good side is that since I rarely wash my cars it is now ready until 2019.
