I am booked on the Circuit Days day (day day day) on the 14th Oct.
I went in October 2018 to watch , seemed great. don't fancy hooning it around on TF days so seems a better idea.

Any hints / tips welcome.
Been on 2 fast taxi laps, driven 1 lap at "5/10ths" and been passenger 1 lap.
Consider some instruction , I am on the team of instructors available on the Circuit days events at the Ring and spa.

Cool :-)

Maybe if he/she is available on that day then they would be able to provide some for whatever their fee is :-)

Not looking to be setting sub 8 btg or anything haha
Ping an email to Chris at circuit days. He deals with all the pre bookings. You can book at registration or on the day but to be honest we normally have upto 6 instructors on the day available and everybody prefers the early slots. Hence get it arranged early. We used to do 30 minutes slots but we have ditched that for one hour slots so you get much more quality as it used to be a bit rushed.

The day is a fairly expensive outing so it makes sense to get the most out of your circuit time as you are unlikely to do more than about 15 laps. If you are learning the track from scratch on the day and do go for an instructor I think you will struggle to absorb all the info as there are a lot of turns! I was speaking to the guy that ran it and he reckoned it takes about 50 laps to learn the circuit. If you have access to a racing sim it makes a big difference to your enjoyment on the day if you at least know the layout in your mind when you arrive.

I didn't have an instructor and didn't regret it. A mixture of Asetto Corsa and watching some really good track guides (check out Misha Charoudin's channel) gave me the essentials to have fun on the day. I actually bumped into him in the car park as he was doing some instruction. If you can get a few laps with him that would be worth it.
Some time on Sims helps to a degree for some people. Reality can be very different.
50 laps can be a good guideline, but that's where we instructors come in handy as we can help to short track the learning g process.
Myself I have20 years experience of going round and round this beautiful track on 2 and 4 wheels. Many of the new era of instructors out here are dubious to say that least. I have even known of someone who has zero laps experience around the track to be employed as an Instructor.
This is why I select the Instructors for circuit days,. To ensure you get the best.

I'm throwing my hat in to the ring smile. First time at the ring DN19 in May last year and really enjoyed the day. Signed up for DN22 on 30th Sep and 1st Oct this year. Can't wait. bounce

I did find that driving on a sim before hand really helped. Although I agree with those that say the elevation changes are something else.

Garage share - Circuit Days 2 October at Spa

Booked this day but they don't do garage splits so you end up taking a full F1 garage for £170. Anyone booked a garage and want to share - will pay whatever share (2, 3 or 4 ways - don't mind).

Cheers.
Hi Jon, I’ve booked a garage and happy to share with you - will probably find a couple of others to share the costs too

I have stayed at both Hotel an der Nordschleife and Landhaus Sonnenhof, both of them had a car park which was big and open enough to accommodate large vans/trailers without any issues.

TF dates are normally pretty much ok from the end of January. Always worth building a bit of leeway into a trip just in case. More often open dates can be cut short rather than outright cancelled which won't show on the calendar. The weather is the biggest reason for wanting to leave a couple of options open.

I'd like to go back this year as it's been a loooooong time! I certainly won't be in anything as exotic as some of you though. An old Impreza most likely, although spec is evolving. I'd really like to try a DN event or CD but unfortunately, I am working over in Afghanistan and my return dates don't align with any of the currently scheduled events frown

If I do get an opportunity to go, it is likely going to be in July and would be good to meet some fellow PHers there seeing as my few car friends are more about shows than actual driving rolleyes

Unfortunately not no unless you feel like stumping up for a Curbstone day. The Goldtrack day is on the exact same day as the CD ring day unlike last year frown

Booked DN21 and hoping to get something sorted for the Ringmeisters in July.

Look out for this car...

...and try not to punt it off the tarmac as you overtake.

Booked to go out April 19 till 24th. Others in our group managed to book the track day but myself and others were not so lucky!!! It went fast!

But the tourist days are plentiful so should get some good track time. If you see a caged grey 205 come say hi! Buzzing to go back out been 4 years. House kids and work usual BS stoping me.
