Well if the entire race season gets wiped out, I don't get my Spring/Summer trip and it isn't back on til September-ish, I'm going for a bloody week.
First time I've ever been glad I didn't pay crossings, hotel etc. well in advance though.
First time I didnt book things as P&O have been a utter bunch of c**ts imo. Despite not being to go to the port or going anywhere once off the ferry - will only credit no refunds. I'm a bit frustrated as i currently have about £1200 worth of credit that expired in a year. I doubt i will be using it as ill have a new born and new house so wont be able to afford to go on a jolly. Oh well I'll have to sell cheap crossings off and book them for people.First time I've ever been glad I didn't pay crossings, hotel etc. well in advance though.
I have a trip planned for the end of the month, booked end of last year. Spoken to the hotel as its a self contained flat they said i am fine to go and stay still but i'm torn with what to do.
I would be going on my own in my own car, Own cabin on the ferry, own in the hotel and would be cooking in the flat for myself. I dont see any issues but i'm 90% certain I'll cancel it and wait till october but i cant bring myself to do it yet lol

why wouldn't you go seems like you'll be keeping to yourself the whole trip?
Since writing it I have cancelled my trip end of May. I think its the right thing to do as I've 2 later in the year booked and hopefully things will be more normal then. I'm about to move house and baby due within the next 2 months so financially I am going to save the money for that & stay isolated at home for now. I can also save the holiday from work to spend time with the baby so its all good.I'd love to go but its time to be a sensible adult lol
There's five of us already booked travel by the tunnel and hotels for late June , as far as I can understand off the Internet is that the German border opens on the 18th may and the French border I think said 15th June ? Please correct me if I'm wrong as its national cocktail day apparently !
We're hanging on in hope we'll make it on the 22nd of June as we planned , but starting to realise it's realistically a roll of the dice as to wether it's possible.
Worst case we'll lose £50 each for the hotel no show charge and have to re book the tunnel for later in the year .
Fingers and toes crossed as I eventually got round to swapping winter tyres for ad08r , they're fine as summer road tyres though .

I thought France and Belgium where still on lockdown, was planning an end of May trip myself but couldn't find any consistent info on the status of travelling through France and Belgium.
France is 15 june to review. Holland is fine currently, Germany tourism starts 18th May so you can get hotels etcGassing Station | Track Days | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
