I've been through a couple, started with a 306 GTi6, then a Megane Cup, and now a Mk3 Clio 197 which is really track only (albeit still technically road legal)

if you're trailering a car to track then you may as well race instead.

Anyway, here`s my track car. A rather heavily modified MK2 Golf.

Looks mean but is all that areo effective for the pace the car moves?

What's the score with the bonnet and that scoop? Is it functional?

Haha, exactly! The man is a genuine golf nut and has developed that car over what, 10years+ into the crazy machine it is now. 350bhp+ and glued to the track! It's beyond just being Fast!

none of it's functional and Nige just loves parking in the carpark and trying to find obscure 90s VW parts that he's broken laugh

I really don`t want to derail this thread, but I`ll assume you are being genuine and not taking the mickey and so I`ll give you serious answer .

Yes, it all works, if it didn`t do anything it wouldn`t be on the car. The scoop on the bonnet helps evacuate air from the radiator and intercooler.

The pace the car moves?

Well, it`s pretty quick to be honest. Dunno what I can say that'll adequately convey that without coming across as a knob though .

It`s the fastest MK2 Golf ever round the Nurburgring by quite some margin, GPS recorded Max speed at the Ring is 163mph, if that helps ?.

It's the photos from the end of DN22 with the totally saturated track that really look great

Let's see them

I was a few km away from your photo last autumn.

I hired something to go on the 'ring however...

But used everywhere else:
