Any feedback on these on a damp trackday?
Any comparison to Cup 2 tyres?
They are not a comparable tyre. The Cup 2 is far more a UHP tyre. Any comparison to Cup 2 tyres?

Do you think a set would be suitable for a 1500 kg M3? Mostly used for weekend stints and UK trackdays...
My Cup 2 fronts don't look too healthy anymore and these are one of the potential replacements.
Thanks!

Problem with Cup2 is that they are a very good compound on a road(ish) carcass where more "serious" semis will use a stiffer carcass/sidewall which will protect the outer edge particularly at the front (at the expense of NVH), without having to use massive neg camber. I suggest AD08Rs if the right size is available. blue al said:
Can anyone confirm new tread depth on the 215/45/17 ?
Ado8r vs A052 is a big difference In usability if you do many mixed miles on both road and track
These appear to be priced halfway, and no room for a spare set of rims
The tread depth, as with all of these tyres (without having one to hand to measure) is around 5.5mm when new. These are circuit tyres that are road legal, not road tyres that can go on track. Given that you can you can drive any tyre, even slicks, in the pouring rain if you use appropriate speed and expectation, the Yoko will have a wider window of wet performance due to its softer carcass. The MRF will give you fantastic durability and consistency. Neither tyre is a "wet" tyre. Ado8r vs A052 is a big difference In usability if you do many mixed miles on both road and track

Lots of stories of failed tyres.
Unsubstantiated and dangerous comment. I’ve been using them on my race cars since late 2018 and just ordered a new set yesterday. In my experience they’re good tyres for the money and having gone through 8 or 9 sets, I’m yet to see any issue or failures. And have not heard of any either and I spend more time than is healthy around other drivers using them.
Have also tried AR1’s but overall preferred the MRF’s.
Ok feedback.
Did my trackday today, Castle Combe, lovely weather.
Driving a standard Hyundai i30N Performance (except for the wheels and MRF tyres) so about 1500kg, fwd.
Did 8 sessions, about 130 miles. Very consistent, last session laps were within 1 second of my fastest of the day, didn’t go off at all during 15min or so sessions. Worn nice and evenly. Loads of meat left. Think they will last at least another 3 days.
It says on them that they are super hard compound but.....
Grip wise, I’ve not driven on any of the direct competition, trackday tyres, but short of wings and slicks I’ve never known grip like it! Lap time not too far off my Impreza and that has another 200bhp and 200kg less weight. I might well get a set for that too now!
I was pleasantly surprised to find I was out cornering and out braking most of the stripped and caged hatches and M3s.
No idea how accurate the onboard g meter is but I’ve never seen figures like this before. Hitting up to 1.5-1.8g lateral. On the standard equip P Zeroes I’ve not seen more than 1.1-1.2g.
I think the only downside I’ve found is the drive to and from the track was a bit noisy and you get a fair bit of vibration so if I was going to do a long distance trackday then I’d probably bung the road tyres on and change them at the track/ hotel

Based on all the feedback in here I think I'll be getting a set before my next trackday in May.

Sounds good although if you do hit such high peak Gs then perhaps the next weak point might be oil starvation. Not sure how well designed the sump is to deal with that. On the other hand the i30N's warranty doesn't exclude track days from memory. Did my trackday today, Castle Combe, lovely weather.

Not sure if the same in the UK but hyundai nz states fitment of non OE tyres (amongst other things) will void the track warranty... Not hugely surprising.
