Nurburgring 2021

With Germany lifting the restrictions on visitors from the UK last night, I'm now booked on Ringmeisters next week!
Today is going to be spent sorting the PCR test. When I return it's supposed to be a 10-day quarantine, but if you test negative on day 5, you don't need to quarantine anymore.
After not expecting to be out until the end of August, this is great news indeed

What's the score driving through other EU nations on the way, in/out of Germany? Do you need to take a Lenor bottle, or can you stop en route.

When we did it last October, we were advised to not stop in public places. That included petrol stations. We made the mistake at stopping at a station that wasn't self serve and had to go inside to pay. By the rules at the time, that would have meant we should have self isolated in the country at the time (think it was Belgium)Best off filling up at Folkestone, taking plenty of snacks, and stopping off at one of the rest stops that aren't services.

Whats the latest position re getting into Germany now - just proof that you have been double jabbed?
It'll likely change again before I go I in 2 weeks...... But, you'll need a PCR test to get into France (or accepted brand LFT) and proof of double jab / covid recovery. Getting to Germany is as per usual after that. Returning to the UK, you'll need a PCR or LFT done in Germany before you leave to come home.
There's so much conflicting information, but if you need a PCR don't spend a fortune. Boots do them the cheapest I think. You can book online. If it's an agreed product then you can also use an LFT, which is free / cheap.... but you need to speak to or research that as it's very much a murky topic currently. I'm going to look into it again next week as I don't want to be paying out for something that I don't need. Most people aren't even being checked at the end of the day.
Let me know if you find any other info.

Hmm, getting a PCR or LFT in Germany sounds like a PITA. What happens if you turn up at the Tunnel without one? But, you'll need a PCR test to get into France (or accepted brand LFT) and proof of double jab / covid recovery. I think you can actually get a PCR test at the Ring although don't quote me on that!
The literature on this is quite mixed. it seems that if you are fully vaccinated, i.e., you've both doses or the latest dose of a recognised vaccine then you do not have to get a PCR negative test or to quarantine.

Nonetheless, I have booked two weeks at the beginning of September so Ring trip 2021 is happening for me!

Agree it's a bit opaque but also agree with your summary; looks like you will not have to test and/or quarantine on return to UK from amber country (e.g. Germany) after 19th July. The literature on this is quite mixed. it seems that if you are fully vaccinated, i.e., you've both doses or the latest dose of a recognised vaccine then you do not have to get a PCR negative test or to quarantine.

So it will almost be irrelevant for returning fully vaxxed travellers whether Germany is amber or green in that case (I believe Germany might turn green soon anyhow). The PCR test isn't required to enter Germany if you're fully vaxxed either.RSbandit said:

Changes to international travel rules for amber list countries
From 4am Monday 19 July you will not need to quarantine on arrival in England or take a day 8 COVID-19 test, as long as you:
* have been fully vaccinated under the UK vaccination programme
* have not been in a red list country in the 10 days before you arrive in England
Fully vaccinated means that you have had your final dose of an approved vaccine at least 14 days before the date you arrive in England.

They do LFT with certificate in the REWE in Adenau for around £15 to £20 that is acceptable by French border control.I also believe there is a place in nurburg which I'll look at.

What’s going on out there with the weather? It’s lead story on sky news app that 30 people are missing locally due to all the flooding, people saying that they can’t get there from spa as the roads are washed away.
Looks utterly mental. NXI20 who posts on here and 911uk forum put a photo on his Instagram last night. it seems the freak downpours that inundated London have pushed on through mainland Europe causing chaos.Gassing Station | Track Days | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
