Round 10 and we’re back to Silverstone. A proper circuit that should suit the new cars, expect quick times. There will hopefully be none of the controversy of 2021….

The big question will be if Mercedes can sort the bouncing out around what is a fast track. It’s hard to see past a Red Bull win for me, although Leclerc badly needs a win and will be quick.

For Channel 4 viewers, qualifying and the race are live- enjoy!

Here’s to a great race.

Date(s): Friday 1 to Sunday 3 July 2022.

UK Broadcast Timings (and local time)

All sessions are live on Sky F1. Qualifying and the race are live on Channel 4.

Looking forward to joining in with the thread as the race unfolds, rather than avoid it until the C4 coverage.

Redbull to have a reliability issue, Sainz to win, Russell & Hamilton on the podium.

I can dream! hehe

Going over on Sunday with my Red Bull hat on, hopefully goes better than last year hehe

If RB for whatever reason aren't in the running, I'd like to see a Hamilton win, hopefully the Merc is good here and it's on the cards, as to be honest I'd like to see Lewis maintain his record of winning in every season, and I think it'll be better for the season as a whole if he gets some momentum behind him.

I think it's unlikely Merc will get a win this season, though I would love to see it. I had tickets for last year, but ended up going back to work at sea and so watched the race from my cabin whilst I was doing quarantine. It was such a shame that Lewis and Max collided, and has caused so much ill-feeling amongst fans ever since. It was inevitable really, I suppose.

Anyway, I am going to be there on Saturday, and I am really excited about going this year.

Would love to see George or Lando (unlikely)win it, their first win at home would be great. Lewis has won here enough times and had the big fanfare.

CLC to win. On paper it's a Ferrari track (downforce).

I would hope that the Mercedes go better here with the smoother surface, however that may mean the other teams maintain the gap as they also improve.

After seeing Mansell in the Williams last weekend at the FoS it would be nice to see a Brit win

Just been watching this on utube. Brings back memories of Silverstone 91 & 92. That car looks so wide and epic sound.

It was epic, next to a current F1 car it looked like a toy

It’s difficult to look past those who have already won races this season - but there’s three Brits in the top four teams, and this circuit is quite different to most of what we’ve seen so far in 2022, being a flat and smooth permanent racetrack.

I’m expecting Mercedes and McLaren to be much closer to the pace of Ferrari and Red Bull, but still not sure it will be enough. The two fastest cars haven’t been the most reliable though, so there’s always a chance of Lady Luck promoting the Brits up the field.

One of them on the podium isn’t out of the question, and it’s fair to say they would get a good reception from the 160,000 crowd - the largest ticketed sporting crowd of the year in the UK, only the Glastonbury Festival sells more tickets!
