Hey Ted, whatever happened to your "you can watch from any of the trees" article that started so well? I was looking forward to that!

LOL

Good thing I'm moving to Germany. With Dutch plates I'm sure they wouldn't have let me on without a caravan attached to my car!

I also heard thru my brother who lives 40 miles away that no new comers would be accepted this year. Unless you drive a pork, a scoob, a csl or an evo and can do BTG in reverse in less than 8:35 then you have no chance of making it on track either. Ask the regulars...

Seems strange to install that new ticketing system to reduce congestion, and then ban ze non Germans.

Not to mention the ticket machine especially for RHD cars.

Looks like someone else has heard that, too:

I'm suprised it's taken them this long to make it public. The desicion was made in the first week of January and in the local "Wochen Spiegel" newspaper two days later, personally I think it's not such a bad thing, it'll give the surrounding forest a chance to recover. They did say the ban on tourists will only last five years.

Strange, on the website they say this:
Nurburgring website said:

Not a word about foreigners being banned.
The news item says it is possible to drive on the Nordschleife from 03.12.05 'till 28.02.06, every day from 09.00 'till 16.00 hour.
Except when ice and snow make things too dangerous, which is the case right now.

they will lose 100s of 1000s of pounds. If someone crashes they pay and if they are killed they make enough through ticket sales to cover armcos!!!

Gutted if true tho!
