More to the point does it include third party cover?
Good question. I assumed this should be the minimum it would cover. But does it? And does it have a liability ceiling?

Most temporary policies like this seem to be first party only.

I didn't read tit too carefully, so have no idea about excess or ceilings, but i do know it was 1st party only and not third party.

So nothing new and not a great deal of use to my mind...

Second. The insurance writer is the first party.

Any new or existing providers worth mentioning?

I'll be heading out there in a couple weeks.

Was out at the ring a week or so ago. Insured myself with Moris Trackday Insurance.

Three days for 370. Best quote I found.

Presumably for a trackday, not a TF session.

What do you think it covered you for in TF sessions?
Can you show the wording of the policy?

Given their normal policy doesn't cover the things you want to be insured during TF it must be a different one?

Relevant Things not covered by Moris standard trackday policy:
  • Any Third Party Liability.
  • Damage to the race circuit / barriers.

The cover was for public sessions. When I spoke to the provider (before handing over the monies). I remember asking whether they could quote me for trackday sessions. Their response was basically that the Public Day policy, would also cover my trackdays too.

Just looking through my inbox. For the policy details.

Worth giving them a call for more info.

Thanks for sharing. I would be very surprised it covers TF sessions also. Do check the fine details. My mate and I just finished a double track day at the Ring and also used Morís. Whilst here our instructor told us the massive multiple car accident of last year, the bill came up 900k€ and the insurance wants to recoup the money from the guy who spilt oil on the track ! This is why we only do track days and not TF.

Someone needs to tell him to get the car slowed to turn in later.

The old terms surrounding one way public toll roads or specifically naming the nordschleife have completely dropped off my renewal this year & I've read their entire T&Cs. Insurer is Marketstudy. What's peoples thoughts?

It matters less what our thoughts are than what their thoughts are, you need to ask would be my overriding concern.

I doubt anyone in the call center would have a clue so would default to a no. What I'm really asking is anyone aware of anything that has changed that would allow them to avoid paying out without the previous clauses they used to void fully comp claims and recover the costs of 3rd party?

Sorry for mentioning the "B" word in this thread, but with a Brexit deal or no deal looming, there's been talks of needing a Green Card for European driving.

How will the Ring handle these Green Card's in the event of some Armco loving?

Currently, if you prang some of their gold plated, virgin pube-encrusted Armco, they ask for a Green Card and if you haven't got one, it's cough up time. If we needed to get a Green Card in the even of Brexit, would they take this as "you're covered" and let you on your merry way? Or, will they now be a little more vigilant knowing that most, if not all, British underwriters won't, or ever will, cover driving on the Ring in the same way as their continental counterparts?

Even if they did let you on your way after showing them a Green Card, would your insurers not tell them to Foxtrot Oscar and the Ring would end up chasing you for the cash at a later date?

Be interesting to hear any informed thoughts?

AFAIK, Green Card has never mattered on the Ring.

I've never seen them let a Brit 'off' with it by showing proof of insurance (3rd party legal minimum aka Green Card or fully comp)!

You pay for armco/closure/repair/recovery by card on the spot - and I assume the system will remain the same post-Brexit.

3rd party accident damage to other vehicles/parties, is a different subject, and I guess it will be easier for British insurers to put a specific exclusion in there terms in future - rather than their 'may seek to recover losses' clause they have now (due to EU road insurance having to cover 3rd party).

Still don't know why we can't just buy EU cover from an EU insurer which gives us the same cover as an EU driver (EU being used here to exclude UK). Mine is already underwritten by Allianz, so it's already an EU insurer - who you would expect to already understand EU law for insurance.
