I have 3 little ventures that keep my daily life varied enough for me to keep enjoying everything.

However I'm not enjoying at the moment after having a few non paying clients due to them disappearing and going under. Which has left me struggling.

Yep love my Job

I'm 25 and can see myself being with the company till I retire, seem to have found a natural ability for it (if that's even possible in my area of work hehe )

As some may know I work in the Insurance industry biggrin

You forgot to mention what you do?

I crash test child seats in cars (some rather nice cars aswel) & also aircraft seats (not in cars obviously) & have worked for the same company for 18 years. I enjoy the work but the pay is crap.
Realised how close I am to that,

I enjoy the pay but the work is crap. hehe

If you had asked a year ago, I would have said 'It's w**k - I hate it'. I worked for an M&E consultants and had very little work. When I started, six others worked in my office and eventually there was just me.

We then won a massive contract that would increase turnover by 25% on a five year deal. The beauty of it was most of the work was in the north and my office was in the middle of it. The MD told me he wanted me to play a key role in it. As we mobilised the contract, I attracted a great deal of praise. I was expecting we would need to employ at least five more engineers and I was well placed for the manager's job.

I went to a meeting in our Midlands office where I was told my last report would be "the bible" to which all future reports would follow. I was then asked to have a private chat with two of the directors. They told me the lease was up on my office and there was no business case to keep it. I was offered a job 120 miles away on the same T&Cs.

One of my favourite clients was a loss adjuster. I would advise them on building services reinstatement following fires, floods and ransacking by caravan utilising nomadic travellers. I now work for them full time and love it! The icing on the cake is in joining them, I've took all their work of the company that made me redundant!

Not really, working with some not nice people as well. Had four other offers over the last 6 months but non offer any benefit to move.

Keep plugging away.

Work is work. A job is a job.

I've yet to find one that i actually "enjoy"

The money is alright, but if I could stop tomorrow I would.

I've said this about all of my jobs.

I think I do and definitely can't complain!

I've been considering looking to to going self employed in London but although the pay would be higher I can't bring myself to do it because:
-I cycle to work in 10 mins
-I come and go as I please as long as I do my hours
-I very rarely hear from my bosses and just get on with it, in fact one came to me yesterday to check I was ok and if I needed any help then realised that I was actually ahead of what I was supposed to have done.
-I work in a good, friendly team but if I want to blank them out and knuckle down I can shove my headphones in and listen to documentaries etc.
-Last week when it was sunny we decided that office attire was a bad idea so shorts and t-shirts came out
-I earn 'enough'
-There is very little risk at the moment

The way things are at the moment I feel it would be stupid to take a risk and leave!

Could you please ask them to remove the Nurburgring exclusion from my car insurance policy? Thanks!

Yes, absolutely. In fact realistically speaking in terms of skills I can readily deploy I'm not sure there's anything else I'd rather do for a living.

I'm a building surveyor / site manager for a construction company based in London, I think I'm lucky as over the ten years I have worked for the company I have been able to work in most of the depts, from marketing to buying corporate events and site stuff.

The company are great to work for, kind of company that gives rewards if you put the work in, I'm not hugely motivated by money more job satisfaction and the company know this so in the past they made up salary by giving some great company cars and good perks.

On the whole very happy !

I'm a train driver and really enjoy my job. I love travelling through the countryside, you get to see so much wildlife. I also enjoy the shift work as it means I never have to put up with rush hour etc. I also get lots of time off and free/heavily discounted rail travel.
