Being that my "boss" has just tools me that the 11 hours over time I've done I don't get paid for, OR time in lieu... And I should do it weekly as "it's part of the job" we can safely say I'm looking for a new job
Eta: apparently weekend working for free and staying away from home over weekends are also something I do for the love of the company!

Salary.

No contract after 4 months being here, job "role" varies wildly to suit them... One day I'm "marketing expert" here due to my qualifications, next I'm taxi driver doing 14-16 hour days for 8 hours pay.

All for £19k pa

leave - life is too short to be unhappy at work.

I am happy in my job by the way but would rather I didn't have to work

I let houses & a few flats, I am fed up to the back teeth with it all, from tenants disappearing, finding out they have been claiming benefits from my properties in false names/bank accounts etc to builders who mess up it used to be "challenging" now its a bloody nightmare!

Cannot sell as i would lose a fortune of what is "supposed" to be our pension? Sounded a good idea in 2005 not ended up that wayrolleyes
my parents are in the exact same situation as you.

the worse of it all is that the last tenant that did a runner has been a friend of my mothers for many years, my mother let her have the house she was renting for next to nothing after leaving an abusive husband with 3 young children as a way of helping her get back on her feet.
all went fine for a few years, until the payments stopped going in to the account around April. my mother calls round to see her but there was no answer, and despite having a key she didn't let herself in as she just thought she was out. but the next few times she called there still wasn't any answer so she finally let herself in.
the state of the house was horrific! animal faeces all up the walls of most rooms, a hole in the roof from attic to ground floor. cupboards hanging off the wall, clothes and rubbish strewn all through the house. combi boiler missing!
at first we though there had been a break in after the tenant had done a runner but there's no sign of forced entry anywhere.
the house is now sat there haemorrhaging money that my parents don't really have, while me and my brothers repair what we can to get the house in some shape to enable them to get a Landlords certificate to get new tenants in and start getting back some money they have lost on this house so far!

* anyone know how to get the smell of cats piss out of a house? we've stripped the paper back to plaster, thrown all carpets/laminate away and washed everything 10 times over with bleach and any other industrial strength cleaning liquids but still it lingers frown

You need cat pee smell removal product

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002BRSOE4/ref=asc_df_B...

They contain an enzyme to break down the smell.

Probation period, mutually agreed that I was t what they wanted and they weren't who I wanted to work for.

It was in career plans based on interview, quickly after it became apparent that it wasn't like that at all.

Thankfully for the first time I'm actually embarking on my career rather than just being stuck in a "job".

Looking at my second promotion here at the end of the month.

Very well paid for my age, lots of perks and with the knowledge and training I've received (exposure to enterprise level tech, MS & Cisco certs) I'd happily work for half of what I'm getting paid just for the experience (not that it'll stop me pushing for a rise come September wink ).

Yes. One side of the office looks up at the Juras, the other windows overlook Lac du Neuchatel. I have an Ariane rocket in the car park. No Mars rover next to the office this year, but Ive got frickin laser beams instead smile Live 15mins away from work now in an ancient Roman villa and its 5min walk to the beach.

And 10% tax smile

Love my job, but hate my hours. It's a fairly typical case of people realising you're passionate about it, and doing a good job... So you end up working all the hours you can to get it done.

Adore my job.

Love the corporate relationships and actual work
Get paid twice what I earned in the UK
10% pension contribution
Can work from home or very nice city centre office.
When I do go to the office, a 15min commute away, I have a fully paid underground car parking space that is 24/7 free
All fuel for both mine and Wife's car paid for.
Fully paid blackberry and iPad
Corporate card for client work
My boss is 3 time zones away so I'm my own boss every day
Great colleagues and clients

Literally couldn't ask for better.

Because of all the above happy to work my ass off.
