Great to hear, OP. Well done!

So are you nearing the end of the 2nd year of your course now?

Exactly what course is it?

Congratulations!

I've worked in engine testing, followed by calibration for a total of 5 years now since graduation in 2013. It's a great career, best of luck.

I can highly recommend episode 1 of Dirty Money on Netflix as an introduction to what went wrong at VW and a reminder of what you should be doing and why

Just want to update this with a conclusion.

Today I did my final exam and in a couple of months I will graduate. My internship was amazing, I learned so much.

Just want to say thanks to those who contributed and if anyone knows of any graduate jobs for a capable automotive engineer, let me know. I have industry experience and willing to travel tongue out

I graduated last year and am currently doing my masters. In December I applied for about 20 jobs, companies I knew and a few on a website called Grad cracker. I was lucky to get a few interviews at big names and was offered one of the jobs.

A lot of companies have suspended recruitment for the time being, Ricardo and Mahle have I believe, in addition to Triumph. I'll have a little look and see if I can see anything, is there any location you prefer?

Also how did you find working at Mira? My new job is based there and starting in August

They've announced 400 job cuts today: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershi...

Yeah I did read that earlier. I think (probably wrong) it will be production staff as it seems they want to shift production to Thailand. The cynic in me thinks it may just be an excuse to cut jobs here.

"only" 240 of those job cuts in UK. Not certain to all go yet.

I'm not picky on location. I moved to reasonable distance to do my internship, so im comfortable with moving away and happy to do so.

MIRA was good, you'll like it, all the facillities are good and if you are based there im sure you'll end up making use of them eventually. You get to see lots of amazing cars, most of which arent in the public eye yet! One of my personal highlights was spending an afternoon with the window open listening to a BTCC car flying round one of the handling tracks at 10/10ths.
