If your employer knows you are looking for a new job?
Discussion
Could there be any consequences if your employer knows you are looking for a new job?
As per my other threads I work for a awful organisation and I am actively looking for new work, although I haven't told anyone at work about my intentions I have updated my LinkedIn profile and the last sentence says "now looking to harness these, and other achievements in a challenging and rewarding environment".
Is this too obvious, and do you think it will lead to repercussions at work?

What should happen is that the fact you're looking for a new job shouldn't affect your current job at all, as long as you're performing as you should.
In reality though, if you have an exceedingly petty manager they may make working life difficult for you, especially if you're offered a job and hand your notice in.
On the other hand, you may be offered an incentive to stay, although your original reasons for wanting to leave will likely still exist. Good luck

You are of course entitled to look for a new job. If you are looking to move to a business rival of your current employer, you might attract some flak. So long as you stay on the right side of the line between legitimate preparation to move and helping yourself from the sweetie jar before you leave, the current employer has no grounds for a beef. Check your contract for any post termination restrictions, and also for any garden leave provision.
