Education topic

Anyone have experience of Centigrade Programme Higher education Choices? Eldest has been sent home a brochure for this where for £30 ish they produce a report based on a questionnaire discussing options for higher education (Degree vs HND etc)

Eldest is very focused on where she wants to go/be/do so not sure any value in it.

What a rip off! You can find lots of info free online (the Sunday Times Good University guide is one such info source), and any decent school should be organising visits and information sessions.

Also ask on here with some info about your daughter's aspirations, interests, and her ability level and people may make helpful suggestions.

General advice: study a traditional academic subject (any subject, arts, sciences, whatevs), and choose the subject that you are most interested in and most enjoy. Only go for for a vocational course if you strongly feel that vocation already and have the appropriate attributes.

Consider if you wish to live close to home, far from home, on a campus, in a big city, in a small college, and so on.

I concur BV. Interestingly it is half the price directly on their website. they do support all the other stuff but have proposed this to us. Indi school if that makes a difference so i expect an element of profit in there for them.

I would say rip off, its just a diagnostic questionnaire that points you to a course.

Pretty easy to build they are, In fact I quite admire them charging for it, I built one last week to aid strategic learning.

Would be pretty easy to replicate armed with prospectuses, Student Satisfaction Survey Results, Google and any professional friends in similar sectors to your Daughters interest.

i wouldn't bother.
