Ladies and gents after a bit of advice here and getting my 'ducks in a row' in case things go pear-shaped.

Having been employed with a company as a Property Manager / Carpenter and Joiner / general dogsbody for the last 10 months, I have managed to get an offer (and have accepted) of a nice little management job which is far more suited.

Now my original contract stated a 3 month notice period was required however, everyone who has left since I have been here has done only a month. (I think I still have the only copy of the contract that was signed anyway!)

Due to the ridiculous daily commute on the gadawful M62, prior to Christmas I handed in my notice. Wanting me to stay, the owner offered to reduce it down to 3 days per week which I accepted. No new contract was signed or the old one annotated.
Now with another job lined up and in the bag, I have given my notice for the final time.

What is the score with using TOIL and holidays over the notice period? Could they be used up to 'reduce' the notice period?

Yes they can be; but as with all holiday requests it's up to the company to approve using them in this manner. If they say no to the request they would have to pay them out in your final salary.
