My workshop is rapidly expanding and I have decided to take on an apprentice mechanic. I will of course be contacting the local colleges but thought it might be worth posting on here to see if there's any interest. Due to our rural location we'd need someone with their own transport which probably means a 2nd or 3rd year apprentice.

The workshop is small but efficient - there's myself and one other highly experienced tech. We do everything from simple servicing to engine and gearbox rebuilds. We are famed for our diagnostic ability and have recently branched out into ECU repair. Any apprentice would get great exposure to some really cool and clever stuff.

If there's anyone interested and wants more info please do PM me or use the contact form on my website (link in profile).

What an incredible opportunity. I was fortunate enough to work for a Ferrari main dealer a few years ago (only valeting, unfortunately) it was absolutely magical. Good luck to anybody who steps forward for this. smile

I'm really pleased to see how well you are doing. You knew what you wanted to do and you went ahead and did it. Congrats and I hope you find the person you need, a dream job for someone.

My 14 year old is a car but if you have a Saturday job sweeping the floor or something he would be as keen as mustard

'car nut' I think was the intended phrase.

I'm currently away so haven't been able to make any progress on hiring someone. However we really need additional help so I thought a little thread bump might be in order before I start searching in earnest next week.

As well as an apprentice, I would also like to hear from any newly qualified mechanics who would be interested in working on supercars.

My son is almost 18 months in to a mechanics apprenticeship with JLR, but he’d possibly be very interested. Where in Kent are you?

Your son sounds like exactly the type of person I'd like to recruit. We're near Ashford. Map and contact form can be found here: http://www.avengineeringltd.com/contact-us/ He is welcome to drop me a line to arrange an informal visit if he'd like.
