Need something to get me out of bed - grand a day would do that. One of those 'all or nothing' types, and I'm quite content slumming it.

First class engineering degree whatever that's worth - salaried (?) sweet f*ck all at the moment. Contract rate was (just about) acceptable but reforms knocked the good times on the head, soo... smile

Let us chew the fat then. wink

Is a 'grand per day' possible for us filthy pleb folk?

Signing on in the meantime.

You ask a question like this, I do question you username?

Not saying it can't be done, but off the top of my head I can't think of any. Most of the people I know who earn anything near that sort of money have spent years building up a reputation in a select sector.

Grand a day, very funny. Whilst I'm sure it's achievable if you have your own business(es) and work very hard at it I'm not sure that's what your after. It's never going to be instant either. Just keep buying those Euromillions tickets, you never know smile

Most folk would bethinking they're doing well if earning a grand a week, I earn more biggrin

Ah, IT contracts back in 2000 to 2005.

Not so many now, and IR35 got everyone running for the hills.

So, you need a time machine.

Have you a thin waist, massive nockers and cracking good looks? If so you could manage that in a few hours a day... lol

In the UK you do. Nothing tying me down so I'd consider work anywhere.

Easily achievable in consultancy. Experience is key though.

Apparently, being an IT director is a cushy way of earning a fair bit of cash. (See the other thread.)

That’s what I did for a living, when younger, and still in the industry and working offshore. All due respect but OP doesn’t sound like it would be his thing.

it's nowhere nearly a grand a day for a start. Anything in IT is only lucrative for a while and then you need to totally transform yourself.
