Join PH on track at Brands Hatch | Update

MSV Trackdays track evening now going ahead without PistonHeads

Following our withdrawal from the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year, it is with much regret that we will no longer be part of the MSV Trackdays track evening at Brands Hatch on 12th August.

The event is still going ahead and will be operated the same as any other MSVT track event. There are crucial new measures in place to keep everyone safe, which we recommend reading up on before attending any track day in the near future.

We’re aiming for our events calendar to return in 2021 and look forward to seeing many of you next year.

ORIGINAL STORY

We're excited to announce our first ever PistonHeads track evening at Brands Hatch in partnership with our friends at MSVT on Wednesday 12th August. Can you imagine a better way to end your day than driving around Paddock Hill bend into the sunset? Well, we can hope.

We'll be using the 1.2-mile Indy circuit in an open pit lane format, with track time running from 17:30 - 20:00. We've got 40 spaces that we're expecting to fill quickly, and noise limits for the evening are 102 dB static and 90 dB drive by.

Whether you're a seasoned local or someone looking to get out on track for the first time, track evenings are a great opportunity to get some track time without committing to a whole day with a relaxed atmosphere.

Spaces are just £129 and can be booked here. Every driver taking part will get a free PistonHeads t-shirt. See you there!

MSV Trackdays are taking place again in line with government guidelines on coronavirus. You can read more on how MSV are keeping customers safe here.

Good work! Now added to our Events calendar for those who are coming out on track to put your name down: https://www.pistonheads.com/calendar/event.asp?i=9...

Please note this event is not a meet and is only for those going on track and their passengers. Can't wait!

Fantastic. I'm going out with a friend in his 172 Cup who bought my Megane off me before I bought it back and sold it again. We'll be looking on with envy...

Yes confirmed for 10th October – it'll be midlands based with autotests at Donington Park. More to come on that soon smile

Not unusual for an evening session. All those people who bought a house near a race track, then complain about the noise...... you know the reat.

UPDATE FROM MSVT ON CORONAVIRUS

You can see MSVT's response to coronavirus on their website here. In short, all track days for the time being are still going ahead with extra measures in place to protect everyone involved.

If it's not possible to operate a track day due to coronavirus, they will automatically issue a credit for the full amount, valid for 12 months.

EVENT UPDATE - MOVED TO 12TH AUGUST

We have taken the decision to postpone our track evening until later in the year, with a new date of Wednesday 12th August.

For those already booked on 19th May, you will need to contact MSVT to move your booking to the new date (if you wish) 14 days before the event is due to take place. Otherwise your booking on the track evening taking place on 19th May will remain, assuming that it goes ahead.

MSVT are currently closed so the best thing to do for now is email trackdays@msv.com with your request. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused due to this.

Read this and thought it's about time I gave track days a go. Also read the 'track days for beginners' article and think I need to spend a bit of money on perishables and would enjoy a bit of tuition beforehand too. Perhaps next year...

It looks like you can't hire helmets due to covid-19.

I've booked for this event. Looking forward to this but my passenger needs a helmet and is struggling to fit into a full face helmet.

Does anyone know if an open face helmet is allowed?

I've already emailed MSV but just wondered if anyone already knows.

Open face is fine if you have a proper roof. Soft or open top is full face only.

MSVT's safety measures are detailed here, which include details on passengers (must be from same household or support bubble): http://www.msv.com/media/7313957/How%20we%20are%20...

OK thanks, that answers my second question as well. I will have to keep the roof on and my lad will have to scrunch up with the helmet on since his head touches the roof when he's in the car.

Yes thanks. I read that and so got confused. In the registration web page it asks how many passengers and how many helmet hires and they will happily accept your moneys.

Then you read the above link and it clearly states no helmet hire.

Indeed – apologies me posting that didn't really answer your question but may be useful to others. I'm sure MSVT will get back to you quickly enough to resolve. Less than a month to go now biggrin
