Tube trains were still being packed at rush hour times earlier on in the lockdown because tfl had cleverly massively reduced capacity. No masks were required and London had much higher infection rates than anywhere else at the time. Transmission still came off a cliff here......

The toilets being closed everywhere is really starting to piss me off.

We haven’t strayed too far for the last few months, I’ve been out on my bike (cycling) locally and going out as a family for walks in the countryside etc. But with a 5 yr old the inevitable will happen and he’ll need a wee.

Went to a trail centre a few weeks ago that has a cafe, more than happy to sell coffee, cakes and ice cream but can’t possibly open the toilet.

Went to Portishead Marina on Sunday for early evening fish and chips, cafes, pubs and restaurants all doing take away but did any of them have a toilet open, nope. One lady kicked right off actually.

Went to Bath yesterday as my son has Wednesdays off school (reception and loving being back in with minimal nonsense). Took my first day off work since end of March and took him for an ice cream, he needed a wee and we would usually head to M&S in Bath if we need the toilet, open and full of shoppers but the toilets were closed!

This is worth a read from the ONS.

What is striking is the number of business that have continued to trade but have furloughed staff.

https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunit...

Now some of that will be legitimate but the numbers are such that I am pretty sceptical as to the motivations of some employers.

Pretty troubling if the owners are alert to the fact that their businesses can run with fewer staff...

Stay at home then!

Why do you keep going out when you know toilets are closed?

This far on and we're still getting "Stay at home" rolleyes

I cannae see the need for toilet facilities to continue to be denied either. I just don't see that they've suddenly become rooms of certain death (any more than any facility was before) just because of one new reason to be hand washing.

Like some say, there are bairns who often have higher demand for short notice toilet access as well as plenty of medical conditions that need managed around the same thing. Just allow access and let us police ourselves around the perceived risk.

Yeh we’ll jus stay at home forever.

On the odd day that we’ve got we want to go out without having to play toilet bingo.

What are these places going to do in two weeks time? People are gonna get pretty fed up with not being able to go to the toilet.

Exactly my point.

People were happy to use public toilets before with all the other nasties that reside in them.

But on the bright side, grass verges around the country will never have been so lush.

Best quote you before you delete the post

Have you exceeded your 2 post quota yet?

On a semi personal note, and it applies for a lot on here with children, why aren't you out enjoying the sunshine with them day and night and arguing about things over and over again?

P.s. my prediction for gyms reopening is 13th July

Any enlightened authority would open up the loos and increase the frequency of cleaning etc. to make sure they are respectable and have a good supply of bog rolls and soap etc. Catching CV off a loo seat whilst possible does not appear to be probable and a good hand wash would sort the problem.
Thought the issue wasn't the seat, but when you pulled the chain the "stuff" the previous user had deposited could become aerosolised & breathed in? Turning your back as you flush and washing your hands on exit in case it's on the door would presumably minimise the risk, but hurl at the general thought of aerosolised "deposit" in the air at all.
Has there actually been any research on what sort of spread comes from a typical flush in these situations or is this another theoretical risk? Presumably urinals are unlikely to be affected by this.

It is madness! Having had wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds whilst singing happy birthday twice drummed into us, the authorities close down the very means by which you can regularly wash your hands!

I know, I know, I said enlightened!!!
How big is the fine for being caught public urinating?

Plus it kinda forces people to not to stray to far from home, though with councils now starting to feel the pinch they'll open them soon to bring in the income for the shops = they get money
