What are your views on this? I though it was ok for what it was. But the idea of taking a side character from OFAH and making him the focus of a new sitcom was always going to be a bit ropey.

Reminds me; I keep meaning to track this down (iplayer?)?) and watch it to see if it’s any good. Always loved OFAH but never bothered with this one back when it was ‘new’, have only ever seen the odd snippet.

I really liked the Rock & Chips prequel to OFAH, totally different to Green Green Grass I know, but others seemed to slate it, so maybe GGG is a bit of a hidden gem? Written by John Sullivan as well I seem to recall but could bd wrong about that.

I haven't seen it since it was new on BBC, but I seem to recall it wasn't bad. It's appeared on one of the Freeview channels recently, forget which one.

Interesting opinion I have been waiting to air.
There was a preceeding program called Grass with much the same sort of storyline made by the BBC
starring the very amusing Simon Day of the fast show.
It was very good but never got repeated. And has seemingly dissapeared.
Did the scummy BBC bury it to please the only fools and horses creators who were obviously well in
with the big fat comedy controller?
Obviously 'green green GRASS' would have been more popular as the drooling masses remember del boy and co.
But GRASS was much funnier and would appear less dated now.
There was one about school teachers as well that was hilarious but got shafted due to the very unfunny posh twerp
and his school show.

It's pretty good

Light hearted viewing

Has a certain charm, there are no belly laughs like OFAH in its prime, but a decent programme for a cold winter's night

It's broadcast quite frequently on Gold, has its moments but not in the same way as OFAH as others have said.
