First proper outing on saturday, very good fun.
Car was reliable and felt strong, I was surprised how well balanced the car was, very adjustable on the throttle through the corners to balance under/oversteer.
the standard suspension does role abit, but was fun:
but it did lead to some serious outer edge wear on the front tyres!

Tyres:
ran some road tyres with <2mm of tread and some used slicks.
the slicks had a lot more grip, increasing corner speeds and almost halving braking distances!
but.... the reduction in mobility at both ends of the car ultimately meant it was less fun?!??!
anyone else thought this?

Hello,
had a request for an update.... so here goes.
the car has sat still, and not moved since the end of October to the end of April.
then had a fab day at castle combe.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceI__tcpT_s
It held up well given its lack of use over the winter. rubbed through a set of old road tyres on the front, so put on a set of these:
Hancook track day tyres, the stiffer side walls helping turn in.
the balding rear road tyres on the 8.5 std wheels, despite their lack of tread, refused to let go or show any sign of wear... obviously not trying hard enough!
mechanically, just one of the standard rear pads decided it had had enough and removed its self from the backing plate, so after a tank and half of fuel we called it a day.
pads have been replaced with some yellow stuffs
Moving the car off the trailer one day afterward the clutch went to the floor, not a good sign!
so off to the fixers, for a new clutch master and slave cylinder, they have all so seen to a leaking power steering pipe.
when it returns it i'll put these on...
ready for Mallory in a few weeks, hopefully this will solve some of the front tyre ware issues, they have adjustable camber plates

Nice update, sure they'll make a difference. And seems very sensible copper-slipping the adjustment threads.
As mentioned above, front camber makes a huge difference - I went out on track with a guy in a M3 Evo Coupe running properly set-up coilovers, and the way it turned in compared with my (standard) car was remarkable.
No clue on ride height, will depend on how much you want the car lowered compared with standard, allowing for, as you say, the shocks to settle. Perhaps set it to the standard car's ride height to start with, should give you plenty to play with, especially as you're doing to need to re-geo/re-set the heights once it's settled?

Awesome day at Mallory.
Geo's done, and its the same super adjustable car, but with a almost no roll.
it has also cured the dreaded tyre edge wear.
the extra composure meant cornering speeds to match the caterham challenge cars out testing, coupled with the grunt to push them down the straights!
you'd have to be talking GT3RS or proper race car to get more thrills than a stripped M3!
