Hope you get back to us soon with how it ran after being parked for so long...

As far as I"m aware would be no issues as never been serviced outside of approved BMW ppl, and well within the required 60k on mileage.[quote=SD 80]Would it be possible to purchase a BMW or Mondial warranty for this?

If more than 2 years between services, regardless of mileage covered, the car would not be eligible for the BMW/Mondial extended warranty.

Have just checked using vehicle details, Natalie at Mondial has confirmed there is absolutely no problem in providing a warranty, 3 levels of cover and 18 different pricing options etc etc and has kindly sent me the details via email. It's called a lasped policy and covers after one month and will only not cover and previous faults. Which are none according to BMW after full clean bill of health received in writing today. I even mentioned this 2 year servicing gap, so poss updated the policy or now just profit driven. Either way It is possible lookin at e-mail comprehensive cover BMW / Mondial for yr for E61 M5 is £1044.20 so cheaper than the mthly fuel bill.

Well, for those of you who have followed this with interest,I learned today that the car has been sold without being seen or driven! So if you are on here, then announce yourself!! The car has attracted a lot of interest and the dealer has a list of interested parties, just in case the buyer pulls out. Hopefully the car will get the use it deserves and puts a smile on the owners face. So is that 173 registered M5 touring now!

I got an email from Munich today to say it was for sale but had no idea it was sold so quick. I think only 2 of the genuinely interested parties were PH members and i dont think either are the buyer. Either way, now the car is sorted it stands as a good buy!

Great story.... but what a terrible investment for owner who would have paid what £65k; not used or enjoyed it and then at best going to get £25k
Did the OP say why it wasnt used at all??

You'd think they would mention the idle period in the advert. It's not as if nobody will notice!

I agree they are rare, very rare, but also a very niche market. So what do you think the final price will be?
Below is 2007 saloon with an AUC warranty and v similar spec...

But its a saloon! Its final value has limited comparison to the Tourer which was made in far, far fewer numbers.

I am with you but how much of a premium should it deserve? If this is 25k with 1y AUC warranty that is 23.5k without and without negiotiation! So should this e61 be £30k or more like £27k (as it comes without warranty I assume)... Just raising the question. Not sure what the answer is as this looks to be a decent car!!! And I think the estate should hold a premium
