Sorry if this has been discussed before ( too many pages to check ) , but why is the Evo 3 that's for sale at Parkway Specialist Cars in Mansfield worth £145k . It looked nice but is it super special ?

Rule one for a dealer is to stick it up at an optimistic price and test the water. Same with the Tour De Course at £150K and the rather ordinary base model car at £90K

Brian (xworks) still has his m3, as you said his car is a work of art

It certainly is. Did a run across the local hills with him and a few other E30 M3s and CSLs a couple of years ago which was great fun. The sound of all the induction noise was pretty special

You don't see too many sub £30K M3s advertised now, this one I think was up for £32K last week when first advertised, so looks like the vendor is motivated to sell quickly. Could be worth a look for anyone looking for a project car.

Inner and outer sills and n ominous patch of rust on the sunroof. As you say though, certainly a way in at a more reasonable cost. Especially if you can do some of the work yourself and/or spread it out over time.

Sills usually hold up pretty good from those I've seen. Sunroof panels are a bit of a weak spot. Had mine changed years ago when they were something like £70. Now they are over £400 !
Sounded an interesting car if the engine rebuild checks out . So many other sub £30K project cars are often missing expensive and unobtainable parts, but this one seems to be body and paint repairs.

5) 1 original 2.3l cylinder head -brandnew 2600 Euro

6) 1 new (original BMW) 2.3l EVO2 engine block 4500 Euro
On a slight tangent. Recently found set of slide throttles

And mention of a 8 injector manifold. Never seen that mod on a road car. Or is it now in-necessary and it's possible to inject the same amount of fuel with only 4 if you use the right parts.

2600 Euro for a head is just list price and something you can easily get cheaper buying via a German specialist.
Block looks to be something else on backorder. On parts like this I think they only cast a new batch when they get a number of orders in.

I'm pleased they'll still make you a block though.

Having said that, BMW's own classic shop says the head is unavailable too. ECS in the US says it has one in stock at around £1600..... plus around £185 shipping and then tax when it lands here.

Buying in Euros discounted via Leebmann in Germany is £2215 plus shipping. We really get screwed on prices here as I bet the UK dealer price is even more than the Euro. Do you know anyone that is holidaying in the US and has space in a suitcase ???

Well the white car just sold at Silverstone auctions says this one is overpriced if they were even a match , which they clearly aren't. Is it just me, or does this one look like its been painted in the wrong shade of white ?

I had a look at the one in the Silverstone auction - it did look like a very nice car but I know nothing of the details on e30's as to what is correct and what isn't .
