This looks lovely but unsurprisingly at the top end of the price bracket £75990.

Rear tow looks normal to me, as do the sills, as does the exhaust as pretty sure BMW sell one with chrome tail pipes.
Sills may look odd because of the low angle of the pics and the fact they are clean enough to see the attaching screws.
Only thing that looks odd to me is the dusty looking glovebox.

I am just getting into the spirit of this thread Sills may look odd because of the low angle of the pics and the fact they are clean enough to see the attaching screws.

Always makes me suspicious when people hide the registration though.

Vehicle Description
Red – 190,000 kms
Re-built engine 20K kms ago
I am selling my much cherished M3 which I have owned for the last 9 years.
The situation is that in April of 2018 my wife and I moved to Nairobi with a view to emigrating. Now that we have decided NOT to live in the UK, and with an E30 M3 being a ridiculous proposition in Kenya, I wish to sell the car. We will be returning to the UK for a few weeks in October of this year. Prior to that, the car and all of the history documents are locked in secure storage and this advertisement therefore relies on my memory of dates etc.
As soon as I return, I will take more pictures including engine and interior and email to interested parties.
My intention is to arrange viewings/test drives for seriously interested parties in the first week of October and then to finalise a sale.
The car is a completely stock 1990 M3 – the last derivative of the non-evo cars and develops around 220 bhp, the cat having been removed. It is of course left-hand drive. It has the desirable dog-leg gearbox.
Mechanically and cosmetically the car is in extremely good order inside and out. It has the cloth interior and 13-button On Board Computer.
The car was factory supplied with aircon and has the appropriate controls on the dashboard, however, the S14 engine (being quite buzzy) destroys the aircon bracket so the aircon pump and associated plumbing has been removed.
In 2010 the car suffered a very rare bottom end failure. A freshly rebuilt cylinder block/bottom end was sourced and installed. The car has done perhaps 20,000 kilometres since then.
The gearbox was rebuilt as a preventative measure 6 years ago or so.
Here are the negatives:
The boot lid has a couple of small spots of damage. As the bootlid is GRP (as standard), lasting repairs are hard to effect. Further, as the inside of the boot lid has been signed by Sabine Schmitz, I have not rushed to replace the boot lid.
The differential is due a re-build – it makes slight noise when on full lock. From a practical perspective, I am not going to have time to have this work done prior to sale.
The ABS system is faulty – warning light is on and ABS does not function. I will try to sort this out or at least diagnose the issued on my return to the UK.
Check control lights for coolant level and screenwash do sometimes come on but these are false positives and I am sure simply require new sender units.
There are 2 or three small blemishes on the bodywork which I intend to get sorted as soon as I return to the UK. The bonnet has a number of stone chips as might be expected given the age of the car.
The car has an extensive service history from the date of import to the UK in 2000. I have all receipts for all parts bought and work undertaken during my ownership.
The car is totally rust free and very original. As such I think that it is worth around £50,000.
The truth is it has to go so the highest bid will win – the market will decide the true value.

It looks nice. Some of the details give away the restoration, incorrect nuts on the struts and no caps on the top mounts. Non original exhaust and it looks like it has bee lowered slightly.
What I find odd is the need of of the auctioneers to make statements such as "and its first owner kept it for 6 months before returning the car to BMW as a deposit against the first Sport Evolution III available in the UK. "
"Unusually the car has stayed within a small geographical area (a picture of it still hangs in the local BMW dealer-principals office) and the current owner has been in contact with all but one of the M3's six previous keepers, with each one remembering it fondly."
I mean, who really cares about this?
And the constant filling of the adverts with the model history of the cars.
"The E30 M3 was the first purpose-built saloon produced by BMW as a racing homologation special by BMW's in-house Motorsport division. Introduced in 1986 as a road car, it dominated Touring Car racing throughout the World taking countless titles including the prestigious German, Australian and British titles, not to mention the World Touring Car Championship in 1987. To comply with DTM homologation rules, a minimum of 500 M3s, retaining all the aerodynamic features of the 'Works' racers. had to be built and sold to the public"
"Compared to a normal specification M3, the engine was slightly more powerful thanks to a new camshaft, pistons and intake system and benefitted from a lighter flywheel and lightened boot-lid, windows and bumpers. Such modifications made the car quicker and more 'pointy' compared to the standard M3. Of the 17,000 M3s produced, only 501 Evo 2's left the factory,"
Anyone looking to buy such a car will know that.
All bullst and very little actually about the thing you will be bidding on.

Re the red Evo 2, can anyone work out what's happened to the mileage ? (see MOT history)
I've got a car whose mileage has gone up and down but this was due to the digital mileage reading and the trip metre reading being in the same place so a couple of garages have incorrectly recorded the trip reading as the mileage. That's not the reason for this car but what do you reckon ? Nice car but I'm put off by these discrepancies.....
