The fire extinguisher mounting bolts look like they needed a spreader plate as the floor has been squished.

What's that lifting away from the floor, about half way down the picture, on the right?

ETA.

Had a call from someone who was actually due to buy this car the last time it was offered for sale. Agreed a price on the phone, travelled a considerable way to view, only for the seller to then demand the original asking price. Seller had also said it had history as a show car for BMW, which clearly it wasn't. Anyway, just wanted any potential buyers to go in with their eyes wide open.

This M3 appeared yesterday and is already on £28k+. Seller is the mysterious bidder who fell silent after twice promising to send a deposit.

All looks a bit shiny underneath to be original.
Same car.

Assume he won't be selling to whoever wins on eBay then?

Read what you linked more carefully: 195bhp model from 05/1986.
  • AK05: European-spec with cat (195 hp), 05/1986 through 05/1989 includes Europa Meister 88
  • AK05: European-spec with cat (215 hp), 04/1989 through 12/1990 includes Cecotto + Ravaglia

Got a couple of photos of some of the welded 'repairs' if anyone is interested? Not great.

I think we might have just found an error on that website.

I've just checked a number of random AK05 chassis numbers before and and after the Henna red one being discussed, and at least 500 before that chassis number still show as E30 M3s, built in '87.

Oops, slow at typing and just seen the other replies whistle

Still, explains why it is Henna, but only explanations I can think of for saying it is an '89 car is it was documented as '89 when it was imported/registered in 2002, or sat unused for a couple of years before use overseas?

[quote=e21Mark]Fully restored.

Someone needs to point out to whoever restored the red one that a "Fully Restored" M3 track car looks more like this beauty from Dubai

I bet it never sees a track in anger. track cars are track cars and show are show. A track car can be put in the barrier at any time and any one who owns one takes that on board. You cannot fairly compare prices of road car and track cars they are two completely different things and attract different buyers.

I take mine to shows and tracks. It'd be a real shame if there were never an E30 M3 at tracks or rally events.

Fake Alpina badges and wheels as side it looks like quite and nice well put together car from the pictures, I think it has made it's money already though.

People look at me like I've got two heads when I take my Sport Evo to the track...in the wet! 10yrs ago there was loads, now they have all be tarted up and sold as "great original condition" road cars to collectors.
