Makes the Redux LeichtBau car look almost good (did that car EVER get seen in the world?)
Was shipped to its owner in the USA a couple of weeks back. Looked ok (from the limited pics posted) but I wouldn't say it was anything all that special. I'll be amazed if they build another 29.
I saw the same pics, but they're all from odd angles. SO never got a feel for the whole car, or what they'd actually done. What was different, what was bespoke. I've got more pics and details of the Works GrpA DTM cars than this car! I've got more clue about YOUR old car from the article elsewhere! laugh

They (RL and Lord) did it all wrong. They decided to make a business then made a car.

Singer (Dickinson) made his own car first and was then persuaded to make cars for others.

I've mentioned it before. But its worth getting their coffee table book "One more than 10" just because it shows the level of detail they went to. And why 95% of these start up restomod companies can't hold a candle to them. And why this Bulgarian bunch of cowboys just don't get it!
Agreed. I still can't work out why they went to all the effort and expense of bespoke engine parts when everything is available off the shelf? Just reinventing the wheel time and again. Yes, the paint looked good but what's the point on a car that's supposedly going out on track? I'd be intrigued to know what the final price was? The Bulgarian car looks bloody awful to my eyes and binning the s14 was just daft.

Very similar mileage. Big difference in price though!

What do we reckon a used rear quarter is worth (currently NLA from BMW)? The C pillar has been cut away and it’s a little scabby at the bottom but it’s otherwise in decent nick. I’ve been offered £100 by someone who races an M3 but it’s been so long since I’ve seen one for sale that I’ve no idea if that seems reasonable.

Its worth what someone will pay for it. laugh

As long as a piece of string smile

Are you happy with the offer? Of not, why not?

The Bulgarian car is based on a 318iS chassis hence the battery being in the engine bay, the lack of Getrag 260 and the E36 S50 in the engine bay. The panels are all brand spanking new BMW Genuine parts... In its defence the owner has apparently a F10 M5, a E90 M3 GTS and a (
E70 X5M, but the E30 replica is his favourite.

They were around £480 new and NLA now. BMW estimate is march/April 2019 to be available again.
Stick it on eBay at perhaps a higher price with 'best offer' ?

Couple more pics of Redux's nonsense

This is allegedly the 2.5 Turbo engine
Those welds on the intake are horrible! And it's not a new custom design, just existing TBs, stripped and bodged.
Inner wings and bonnet are white underneath?
Non adjustable Top Mounts?
Don't like the bar holding the coils together, doesn't appear to be attached to the cover? Why not just use a bar that attaches to the existing mount points already there. ( from the plastic guide) But I guess that would involve using different coils with the tab on the lower side. Cost cutting instead of using correct part!
In fact the cover was just milled with their logo and painted

Ugly wheels custom by Cinel (I think Mark had their better looking wheels on his Red car?)
R888s are 225/45 R17's

EDIT

Jesus! What a mess!
Alcantara wrapped centre console.
Orange seats?!?!?
Stupid "modified" door cards!
Purple Harnesses?
Rear seat?

Yeah, I’ll do this in the new year. I’d heard about them being available again in spring but you hear all sorts of rumours with back order/NLA stuff.

Pretty similar to a 215 car IMO

The only Sport Evo I drove back to back with a 215. I could feel the increased torque in the "arse dyno" I was surprised, since I didn't expect it to be that much different.

I restored the underside of that Evo2 for sale at ML after it had been off the road for many years.

I have driven that one (and other Evo 2's including a RHD car) many times and they dont drive that much different from a non Evo M3 but have some nice bits and the added cachet of rarity.

Had a non-cat 200 BHP car and an Evo 2 with a 2.5 conversion. Evo 2 definitely faster / sharper / better looking IMO but really liked the purity of the 200 BHP car and preferred the ride on the 15's v the 16's on the Evo. Both lovely cars from the photos / write ups but not sure the price differential between the two should be £60k though........

oh small world BSSBMW!

how long ago was that?

was the car in a sorry way ? what did it have done?

do you have your own garage now?

I am thinking it may be cheaper to find a standard m3 and make it look like an evo 2 and then improve it power wise ..

£55,000
Looks nice enough. Though it's hardly a multitude of pics and there's no mention of any body repairs considering this car was built by them.

But the phrase "competition pack" just irks.

But then most of what Barney has done over the years irks...
