Currently looking for a BMW M3 Competition package but not been offered that much of a discount compared to what the deals were in march. Anyone managed to get a good deal recently and from where.

Dealer contribution is back! Not much though.

Best deals currently seem to be on pre reg cars

There are a reasonable number of M3 and M4 LCI cars which were regd last quarter with decent specs and delivery miles in the system. Nearly all have HUD, Hartman Kardon and DCT as a minimum.

I'm back in an M Car having picked up an M4 convertible LCI last week. Yas with Sakhir interior, DCT, Harman, CF interior, CF front splitter, CF rear diffuser, convertible comfort Pack, parking pack. List OTR was approx 72, got it for 58.5.

As a percentage off list these stock cars are a decent deal, but as they are mostly silly high spec you will still lose a fortune when the time comes to sell. I paid £55k for a car that listed at £66k, I'm selling now and 10 months on it's worth mid to high £40K's as a trade in, the cars specced to £70k+ will be worth the same in less than a year.

Is 6-10k a fortune for a yrs ownership. I'm not sure what anyone would expect, differently. It's a high volume, albeit very desirable sports car.

You will loose 10K for sure, on a new car more.

15 - 20% in a year on a new car feels about right though? Lots of cars lose more, only a few lose less.

Exactly- try boats for first year depreciation.

I'm quite happy with what I've lost, probably about £7k. The cars that are listed at £70k+ and selling for around £62k will loose double that though. The driving experience is pretty much the same whatever the spec but lots of toys can be very costly, depends how long your keeping it I guess

I don't follow your logic.

They won't lose double from the discounted price so the net loss will be about the same surely ?

Hi all,

I'm looking for a pre- reg / demo M4 CP, DCT, HK, HUD plus anything else I can get, ideally black or silver. Seem to be £57k for a demo, £59k for pre-reg which seems higher than many have paid. Is anyone aware of any deals at the moment? Cash purchase, no finance.

Also, is the service pack worth it? I'd keep the car for two years.

Thanks all!

Read tonight Pendragon have issued profits warning and UK dealers have 28bln of stock hanging about unsold .
Obviously this isn't all BMW but I'd be in no hurry to buy a new car unless you don't care .

New BMW range coming out so just put that into you equation .

Good luck

Good advice, thanks. I'm in no hurry. It's funny when you talk to the dealer they say with a straight face that all is rosy. It clearly isn't for lots of reasons and I think is set to get worse. Ideally I'd like a 2018 car so I might wait until they filter through. These cars will lose a good £30k over three years from list so we have to buy them at the best price!

Or do PCP like everyone else does and land them with another car in 3yrs then the problems not yours :-)

One key point - you don’t want to be a cash buyer. They have margin in the car and also margin in the finance product .... so smart move is haggle on car price then on PCP BUT within 2 weeks call up BMW finance and pay it off in full.

You’ll end up with a car hugher discoubt that way - cash buyer simply doesn’t jingle to he sales person.

Overall new car sales have tailed off in recent months.

What is this new range BMW is bringing out? You won't see a new M3 until at least 2020 if that's what you mean.
