Mine was £74500 new retail and it’s pre LCI so comp pack wasn’t available. Buying used meant I got every available extra except TV. First owner took a massive hit! I would of never been happy with a low spec car myself.

That's where I am at with drivethedeal and they are the best online I can find. Can't get better than that unless you buy one of the pre reg cars off the locator which are about 3-5k cheaper than new so closer to 23/24%

I am just not sure whether I buy that or a C43 AMG. Going to drive both in the next couple of weeks and get my order in.

C43 is closer to a 340i than an M3, surely?

Yes quite possibly but that’s the two cars I have narrowed it down to. Have to stick to max 3.0 engine for work policy too so the C63 is out.

Pretty sure I got an email a day or so back from one of the brokers, broad speed...17% off

Edit to add. Drive the deal 17% on an M4 coupe.

with the options I have added, its 15%, maybe base cost 17%?

EDITED to add yes it is 17% off the base car but once you add options it drops a bit. Still a good deal I think.

if you add £10k of options that % discount comes down q a lot.And the bigger % are on standard cars not comp pack

and with so many pre-reg ones out there, it seems to me the only reason to buy a new one would be because you want a particular unique spec that has quite a few options. or a special colour (see below)

anyway - i nearly went mad talking to about 5 different dealers on different cars, all different % discounts, with different apr's.

my conclusion is you want to find a main dealer that is part of a very small group, ie. they will probably be hungrier, and/or keener to move on stock.
Park Lane bmw by contrast, despite me being a previous and current customer, were MILES off.

in comparison Blue Bell in Crewe are keen as mustard and I know for a fact sold one car well below what it owed them

unless they are really keen, you can also probably fund a PCP yourself via Oracle at the same rate or better, ironically often using Alphera (which is BMW finance)

my other finding is that the right dealer will do the finance on a pre-reg car as if it was new. IE when they submit the proposal they get the same GFV on the car in 36 months as they would on a new one. even though lets say it was reg on a 67 plate in Oct 17. clearly the lower theoretical depreciation, the lower your monthlies

anyway, I bored myself with all the permutations took a cold shower, gave myself a £40k max budget and bought this 2 year old car, 9000 miles, 1 owner, on which the list was £73k:

If I had wanted to spend too much on a brand new one, I thought this "individual" colour was stunning (jubilee silver)

Oi, hands off the Jubilee Silver one, that's mine!

In my dreams. wink

I've been doing the exact same thing. Seen two dealers already this week, spoke to a third today and seeing a fourth tomorrow. I'm going insane.

Didn't happen to get a price on that on did you?

I got about 16% off my M3 CP when I ordered in May 2016, I'd want more than 20% off a new build if I was ordering today as residual have been hammered with all the pre reg cars. I sold mine last August for £48k, it would be worth around £41k today, so they have been losing around £1500 per month lately. BMW are simply making too many, great for them but not for current owners.

Cheers, they sent me a vid. Only ever seen it once before on an individual M4 last year, pre-LCI.

It's a classic Rolls Royce colour apparently.

That Silver does look fantastic. That's how they drag you in biggrin

The last M3 I had was the last of the E46. £45K I recall and even that was sold after 18 months and 5k miles for £31K. I was a young single chap back then.

Thats where I am at. I have driven the C43 and M4 and the M4 is definitely the one to have. I am struggling though as I need a car with a sunroof (dont tell me not to bother I need one for a roof rack) it's not an option to buy a second car etc.

The only ones with sunroofs (about 10 cars) have black leather which I am not a fan of and only one has silverstone interior which is my choice. The problem is its silverstone on the outside and for me that doesn't work.

That leaves me with

a) wait for the right car to come up if ever.
b) buy new, My spec comes to £65380. Drive the deal are at 56k but I want to be at 52k based on the residuals. Am in talks with my dealer who supplied my 340i so lets see what happens.

Just remember that sunroofs are bad news on used M4/3, so be prepared to have your pants pulled down when you sell.

have you checked whether a seasucker attaches ok to carbon fibre?

I have one and I've had a full suspension MTB on it on the roof of my previous daily (RSQ3)

the metal roof flexed a surprising amount - but it was secure - surely thats the solution for the M4 ?

Or fly to Northern Ireland, buy the JKC M3 with sunroof and silverstone leather and carbon brakes

Ouch. You can hire a "new" M3 on a monthly, no minimum ,length contract for cheaper than that!

I hear you but the sunroof cars seems to sell quickly as I have been watching for a while and the RV is the same on finance so its a case of needs must.

Also, if it is upside down I can give it back to BMW so less risk here.

I have heard they are good but I would just worry about it all the time and I want to put 2/3 up there sometimes so the rack would be better, it gives me more options.

the JKC car is nice but I can get close to that price for my configured factory order.

I have also just found out that you can now get San Marino Blue at £850 the same price as Tanzanite and that used to be mega bucks as a special order. hhhmmmm, decisions!
