Thanks for the input people.
I think it's cleared my head enough to still push for the M4.
Seen a few SH models around which look a good price/spec and also getting prices for a new order.
Will update once I know what's going on.
Top man! you wont look back.I think it's cleared my head enough to still push for the M4.

My local Dealers in Hull (Stratstone) had a blue M4, 16 plate, 9K miles @ £41999 on sale last week, if i were you i'd buy used rather than new as they seem to depreciate quite heavily in the first 3 years.
Happy hunting!

I've just tried to get an insurance quote from Brentarce and they wouldn't touch me without more experience with RWD cars, this is
what's got me thinking the car maybe too much.
Just go on the compare the meerkat etc. My M4 is insured with Tescos!what's got me thinking the car maybe too much.

The facelift cars are due around now aren't they? I wouldn't rush into the current model, wait and see what the facelift does to prices on the current lot.
This. LCI is imminent.I would wait or make sure you get a huge discount. I got too 20% discount on a new M4 before deciding to buy a C63.

Dont have full spec if front of me i think it'll be hitting the £66k mark. If that is the case, should i be pushing for more discount? Prereg but new.
At 50k or just under I don't think you'll take too much of a hammering depending on the mileage you do.Make sure you like the comp pack. I have to say I have never been able to get on with the wheels - to me they make the car look like its on stilts. With that said the engine power upgrade and exhaust are something that i would want.
I was planning on swapping the comp pack wheels with the 19's of the standard car but you can't order from the factory like that unfortunately.
quote sebring man
"I now come onto the M4. Even going relatively straight, plant you foot to the floor at 35ishMPH and you are greeted by an array of DSC lights and the rear end trying to swing around slightly. Even in 3rd it will break traction in the dry. Yup, he's had a couple of close calls."
Are you trying to blow him at the time????? this is nonsense

Quite a lot of garbage posted on this thread
Unfortunately I have to agree.Anyway, as said, the LCI is out there now
As far as I can see it's not having a huge effect on the pre-LCI, which is probably because the changes aren't huge. For instance unless you spec adaptive LEDs, you don't get the new style 'L shaped' DDRLs which have been heavily pushed in the advertising.
Considering the difference in discount levels available, I think pre-LCI makes sense. Just my opinion of course.

Nice one get some pics posted on cutters consider it an investment should you ever need advice
I will. The pics so far are crap though. A few outside the dealer at pick up, and a really bad one in the garage when I got back from the pub an hour ago and opened the garage door to gave another look, as you do.ETA: here's a couple of pics from collection.

Regarding the M4, it's fair to say that with all the electronic aids engaged you need to be misbehaving and quite deliberate to get it dangerously out of shape. Sticking to the basic rule of not treating the accelerator as an ON/OFF switch and appreciating that putting a substantial amount of power to a slick surface can be a challenge should be sufficient.
That an if you want to get more from the car then some tuition on track is a good plan.

I'd suggest a nice E92 M3 as well.
Its overall a much nicer car to drive and has a much slower rate of depreciation.
Looks wise the M4 is super agressive which I find very appealingIts overall a much nicer car to drive and has a much slower rate of depreciation.
I've only driven the Palmer track developed M4 which was great.
I've also driven an ae46 track prepared on track which was a much louder experience the noise was very appealing - it was plenty fast for what I was doing but the M4 is an utterly different league of performance.
