I've had my F80 M3 for 2 weeks and couldn't be happier. Sold my E60 M5 this week after 4 years,epic car!
Had an 800 mile holiday trip over easter 4 up with a full boot of cases etc. I was worried about the space after coming from the M5 but the M3 room wise was fine with 4 people. Averaged 33 mpg over the whole trip according to the dash.
You guys that run M135/M140 I take it you don't have kids? How on earth anyone with kids could use a 1 series to go on a short break is beyond me. Maybe use a top box? I like driving quick now and then and do about 2 track days a year but I also like my cars to be practical so for me a 1 series is no good.
Still getting used to the car in general so not really pushed it yet but so glad I bought a F80 M3. Mine is December 2014, would have gone for a newer one but this one came up at my local dealer and after looking everyday at the BMWAUC website for a year or more I never saw one with anywhere near the spec of this one. Looking on the configurator it looks like the only option that wasn't specced was TV function, options on my car came to 18k!
The adaptive LED headlights and high beam assistant are amazing btw, it's
Iike driving in daylight!

In short I'm over the moon with the car.

I have an M135i and my wife has an Audi A4 which we use for all family outings. The M135i is just required to fit myself and 2 kids in for school/nursery runs so they never do more than about 10 miles in it at a time and it's otherwise empty of child paraphernalia, which is how I prefer it. wink

Let the wife have the family car👍
I suppose it's just that I've always been used to large cars, my kids are teenagers so don't need a big car for kids stuff anymore but I like a fair size boot for luggage if needed. The wife has always had Volvo estates for the last 20 years and last year decided she didn't want a large car anymore and bought a new MK7 GTI which is great but too small if 4 people and luggage so means I have to have the sensible car M3😀
