Cheers - it's certainly my fav colour of the lot.
It's in very good shape - recent total overhaul on suspension etc but nothing like yours. But then I have done over 100k!

Re selling, it might be next year - but it's only a very small might I'm afraid. Had it 12 years now and I'm quite attached to it.

Incidentally, I'm usually dead conservative on price - I'm sure many would say 55k for yours no problem.

Get yourself over to Z3mcoupe.com for some thoughts.

I read a post regarding the boat floor, Does the coupe and roadster suffer the same cracking as the E46 M3?

Yes they do. There are two failure modes...the diff mounting ear can tear and also spot welds can fail in the boot floor.

It's not as widespread as the e46 m3 rear axle carrier panel cracking but it can happen.

I've had a total of 6 z3m cars some low and some higher miles and none have suffered.

My take is the e46 m3 is an epidemic whereas the z3m are isolated incidents

Yes there have been some reports of problems across the Z3MR and MC. Some have either had to have it fixed or had some preventative work done.
I've not bothered myself and had no issues. I don't think it's what you'd call common, but I think all owners are at least aware it can happen.

Ive had my car valued by BMWCC at £32k, it has 94k on the clock. Given the condition and mileage I'd be looking for £50k - £55k for yours

IMO I'd take off the strut bar and ACS badge on the grill for starters. It's in such good condition I think you'll do best by keeping as orig as poss.
Gotta be worth 45k+ if it's as good as it looks - terrific motor.

Thanks; she's a beauty for sure. It's so nice that I never want to take it out unless the weather is fine and dry.

I agree with the Dinan strut brace - I'll remove it and sell it seperately. I've still got the original alloys too but think the AC Schnitzer ones work well with the other Schnitzer bits.

I am speaking from real experience as I sold my Z3M around 14 months ago. I owned a Euro spec car imported from Germany to Dubai. I advertised it and a chap from Spain took the risk of buying it from a distance. He explained that he was comforted by the total lack of mods..down to the radio.

I also went to Techno Classica Show in Essen and the top cars were all totally standard.

You can name your price on your car and an auction may be a good place to head. RM are holding a sale in London in September

Thanks for the feedback.

Based on that; would you recommend going further than strut brace removal...

I still have the OEM wheels in mint condition (still got the OE dunlops' on too!) Would you recommend refitting these too?

What about the AC Shcnitzer flippers and rear spoiler? Would they be OK to leave on?

I don't think the flippers or spoiler would harm resale at all. If you were bothered they might - you could sell them very easily.
Mine has ACS shortshift, gear stick, exhaust and pedals. They would all stay when it came to selling as it was specced like that from new. Is that the case with yours?

I checked under my bonnet by the way, no big logo for me...

As has been said, I probably would change the wheels back though if you've got them anyway.

Bring it all back to standard. Your car looks amazing..it will appeal to the widest set of buyers and possibly a collector if it is totally standard.

Sell all the AC S stuff to someone who is actually a Z3M user and will not be too worried about modification.

Looks like you have a gem there!

As already said I think put the car back to standard... but then I think £60K is a very realalistc price...

Thank you for the input chaps

I've dug out the the old wheels and cleaned them up - aside from some very minor marks they are mint.

Took a few more underside shots too.

I've bought and sold cars no problem in the past but nothing that special. Where would you suggest for this one?

Pistonheads classifieds or would an auction be the best option?

With an auction then it's something I've never ventured into before but I guess there's a bit of faff associated as well as fees

Thanks again

That does look to be in exceptional condition.

I'd have thought it would be worth contacting someone like Munich Legends, Classic Heroes etc. They will charge, but they may just be able to reach someone that a regular advertisement might not. A private sale for that sort of money would put many off and if an auction does not have the right bidders you can lose out.

I find that dealers like to own their stock. And then the margin will be very high between what they buy for and what they sell for.

The crazy prices at places like Hexagon etc are not reflected in the prices they pay to private owners.

They may give 5 pc more than other traders but then try to sell at 50pc above their prices.

I genuinely think you may hit the jackpot with this at the right auction.

Thanks for that. Do you happen to know of good auctions for this type of car?

Thanks in advance

Both Munich Legends and Classic Heroes act as an agent for your car, no sale no fee AFAIK.

Sure..but they prefer cars that are purchased for stock because they make alot more money on these.

They will offer Sale or Return but rarely genuinely push the sale of such cars.

Bonhams or RM Auctions. Look for a sale at a great event or somewhere like London.

Silverstone possibly...not Coys.

Virtually none of the cars ML sells are their own stock, not sure about Classic Heroes, but I think they have the same business model. The likes of Hexagon do the opposite and almost all their sales are of their own stock.

I have been following these cars for a few months now and it appears that very low mileage, LOW owner mint examples like yours are reserved for collectors and it will make top money!

For most of us however,
I think 20k buys an entry level car needing some work (inevitable considering age) and £25k+ a well sorted one.
Will they keep going up? Considering rarity, the engine and the shape, I recon they will keep going and follow e30 M3 prices.
