I like LBB, but I agree it's probably not to everyones taste. Most people who've seen mine comment favourably though.
I don't like white, it seems to hide the wide rear arches, although probably suits the carbon fibre bits best.
Mineral grey would have been my second choice though, think it really suits the M2.

As to spec? It comes quite well trimmed as standard - the thing it miss is the sunroof but that is personal. Most of the other stuff is on my car - what do I use most? Sports exhaust probably. Carplay seems shyate, the adaptive headlights are great. Oh maybe through loading system to fold the rear seats - handy for those trips to the dump!
My advice would be see the LBB in the flesh in several light conditions - it can look lovely in the photos yet hideous in the flesh.

I think 60:40 folding seats are standard on all 2-series, through loading just gets you the 40:20:40 ski hatch. My advice would be see the LBB in the flesh in several light conditions - it can look lovely in the photos yet hideous in the flesh.

For me the Harmon Kardon would be the only must have option.
I agree on LBB - I can't make my mind up if I like it or not. It always reminds me of these:

It's a nice colour. I have a mineral grey M135i and if I could run an M2, I'd probably go with the same or this. It does look less common and a bit more special than grey. I wish the still did Le Mans Blue as an option. I also think that white just doesn't suit the car. I like LBB but I really wish that BMW would buck its ideas up with the whole colour thing. Looking back on the mid-late 90s heydays you could spec an E36 M3 (or any other model for that matter) in so many different and inspiring colours. The Techno Violets, the Moras, Greens Barbados, Boston, Fern, Avus, Montreal, Estoril... so many of those 90s colours would look fantastic on the M2 but if you don't like black white grey or blue... sorry pal.

Yes, I'm in a position to buy now, if I find the right car (LBB) at the right price.
However, bit cautious about pricing, as I don't want to get my fingers burnt when I come to sell next year (it's to fill a gap between a GT4 and a GT3).
It's a hard life having to sell a GT4 to make way for a GT3 and not wanting to get your fingers burnt. However, bit cautious about pricing, as I don't want to get my fingers burnt when I come to sell next year (it's to fill a gap between a GT4 and a GT3).
Why didn't you keep the GT4 until the GT3 was available?
Unlike Porsche you will loose money on an M car.
I recently bought a new M4 competition pack as a daily, it's going to drop in value while my Porsche appreciates in value.
Stratstone were offering £4700 off a new M4 last week

Thanks for the advice.
No disrespect to the M2, which is a great package I'm sure, but I've agreed a deal on a 981 Cayman 'S'.
Although my relationship with Porsche is very longstanding, I was tempted to have a brief dalliance with an M2 - it kind of reminded me of a modern 2002tii or E30 M3 - BMs I coveted in my youth.
However, the best Caymans are very good, with a superb chassis, and the GT4 is astonishingly adept and beautifully developed. Just wanted something with similar charisma as a daily user for the next few months.
M2 would have been a bit more practical, but I've had Porsches as an 'only' car in the past, so I know it will tick all the important boxes.
