Hi All,

So I took delivery of my M4 Competition pack on Saturday, it’s my first ‘proper’ performance car, and it’s an absolute beast! If a little intimidating at times, especially under hard acceleration when the traction light flickers and the back end snakes lift and right I’m getting used to it though!

Any tips or advice of for a new M4 owner on anything I should specifically do/not do in the first few months of ownership? Or any valuable advice?

Your input would be much appreciated!

If it's brand new I would take it easy as things need bedding in.
Tyre's for one and of course engine and running gear. My 2017 M3 ComP Pack never snakes around and I have never seen a traction light, so what year is yours?.

As above - take it easy until the RIS if it's brand new.

I've had the traction control light flickering on mine a few times but the roads around here aren't exactly billiard table smooth, to say the least.

This might seem an odd thing as a tip but one thing I would do is to get some Bilt Hamber Auto Wheels. The 666s are a pain to clean but just spray the BH stuff on and blast it off after a few minutes and the job's done. It really is that good.

It’s a 66 Plate car, it was used but only around 7 months old with 1400 miles (run in service was already done at the time I purchased it).

I’ve been messing around with the gear change shift settings, I’ve found when it’s in the harshest setting (holds onto the gears for longest), and under hard acceleration the traction light does flicker on and off and the back end wiggles slightly (even with traction control on).

Anyone else experience this too? I’m sure it’s fine, but being my first M car it would be good to get opinions of those more with more experience with the beast than me.

Cheers
