Hi
Just managed to get my hands on a BMW M6 Gran coupe competition Pack Facelift, I was just curious how many competition Packs were sold in the UK? Facelift and non facelift.
Congratulations!
Pics please...

Thanks @ Richard M5 and Monthefish
The car is under prep at BMW dealers, will be collecting next week. Will upload pictures once collected, it’s exactly the same spec as my previous one, Singapore Grey with Silverstone Leather but competition pack and facelift. I will upload picture of my old one.

You would be the correct person to tell us the practical differences in the driving dynamics between non Comp and Comp

If that’s the one from Luton, you were very quick off the mark.

They hadn’t even posted the pictures, before it sold smile

That’s the one @ RussellM.....
The car came in as a trade in against a new BMW M5, one owner from New, spec is pretty basic. But am not too fussed.
Mileage is 58750, but I only do 50/100 miles a week as it’s used as a weekend car.
Am collecting the car on Monday/Tuesday.
Will upload pictures once collected.

Don't worry too much, it's all relative!! - there are a lot of items that are standard on an M6GC, that are still options on current model Ferrari's/McLarens etc that cost thousands to add in....

It is great value @ RUSSELLM

Agree with you monthefish....
I drive a 10 year old 7 series as a daily, the only thing I missed on my previous M6 was the comfort seats.
Found the seats to be a bit uncomfortable on long journeys.
I think it’s standard on the facelift and looking forward to them.
I have uploaded my pics of the previous M6 below.

Went to view the car today.
It wasn’t for me, felt as though the previous owner didn’t take much care of it....
So I gave it a miss.

shame but always best to follow your nose, it's served me well.

I think you know very quickly (like less than 20 seconds in) when you first see a car if it's for you or notscratchchin

The interior was clean, but the bodywork and the engine bay looked quite messy. Also the rubber seals on the boot and the front bonnet were peeling off.
I was quite surprised the car was getting sold as a approved BMW.
Maybe the previous owner just used it as a daily and wasn’t too bothered.
Theirs just been another one put up on Autotrader, looks nice but it’s pre facelift .

Doesn't sound too desperate really but an opportunity to knock in a low offer and get these little bits addressed by the dealer and or yourself?

As far as I know facelift just moved the front indicators from below to above the headlight but maybe there was some idrive tech improvements too??

It's OK to be fussy but you could miss a good car that just needs a bit of attention? Prices seem to be on the up too?

Good luck I'm sure your car is out there and will come to you.

Thats right.

  • Headlight indicators
  • Idrive screen upgrade. Pre facelift has a frame around the screen. Facelift doesn't.
  • 2015 onwards have the Electronic Wastegate therefore have sport display
  • Grill has 9 bars instead of 10 for improved cooling
I think they were the main things. Very minimal and would have to be an expert to spot them apart.

There's one AUC for sale that's got the same spec as mine (mine has CCM Breaks however) and its £48k!!!! wow. Id sell mine tomorrow if someone offered me £40k and its got less miles and BMW warranty etc.

There were two significant items that became standard equipment from being options. M Multifunction seats and full leather became standard, the combined price pre-facelift was over 7k.

The grill on the M6 did not change, only the non M's changed.

As well as the indicator change, the face lift lights are full selective beam.

£48k wow.....
the whole time I was searching (almost a year over the last year or so) I don't think I saw any above the £43/44k mark, and certainly not one with over 40k miles (which isn't that much, but these cars do seem to generally have quite low mileages)

Thanks @ Stever.

I think even if the dealers reduced the price....
The car needed quite a bit of work.
As it had scratches and scuffs on different panels, and doors.
The boot struts were on its way out too, and few other bits needed attention.
When I went to view the car, I was so disappointed with the condition didn’t even bother turning the car on.
Most likely the dealers will put it in the auction or just offer the car to a trader. I don’t see the car being readvertised.

Something followed me home today.

Some of you might recognise this car, its shown in pages early on in this thread. RichardM5 contacted me after seeing me ask about the M6s and suggested he might be keen to sell his.

A few weeks later and I've got home from collecting the car earlier today.

Many thanks Richard.
