Assuming has fully adjustable electric seats? By far best seats and most attainable driving position I've had in a car. Go's up/down/back/fore and crucially tilts too which no other car I've driven does, crucial if your leggy like me. And the wheel is telescopic to suit leg length ( always set seat position for pedals THEN wheel after for arm reach).

You don't seem to have mentioned the sound. My 330d sounded better than Megane I went in. My first day I spent with the windows down and couldn't quite believe I had a V8 😁

I disagree, seats and driving position are poor.

Ha yeah the sound is ok really but this is my 2nd bmw. I am happy with the standard system.

Also driving with Windows down listening to the v8 smile

Compared to what?

Also, noting that he’s commenting in part based on his build, what sort of height/build are you?

Could be useful to compare with for others.

I had no problem at all with the (2008 & 2013) E92 M3 seats in all the years I owned one....super comfy
Now the seats in my M4 comp pack...they are truly rubbish seats.

The pre lci seats were too high so they were changed in the lci models . They sit lower and are great IMO

Long legs and short body here so seat at the bottom and I can only just see the bonnet hump with 4" head clearance. I'm 6ft2 and is absolutely perfect in my pre lci. Poor long bodies!

Compared to my ISF (I own both)

Poor is a bit harsh, not great is probably a better description. I'm 177cm and average build.

M3 is a great every day car, and on track!

It’s only torque light if you compare to a Turbo...
got enough torque to get sideways in 4th gear...

I have copies of 50 cent and Eminem in the cd changer ironically left by the previous owner. I'm a metal head so doesn't suit my tastes.

Battery drain warning already but when I switched it on this evening and setup my usb music etc it went away.

Pleased so far but totally different from the Megane obviously. Where I could just floor it round some back roads in the Megane and let the diff and traction pull me round bends the m3 requires caution yet somehow seems to have heaps more grip than the Megane if you load up the suspension in corners.

Fuel economy is poor but probably not a whole lot worse than the Megane really. We shall see.
Eminem and 50 Cent, certainly not the metal-head's choice. Ha! I'd have been just as disappointed with those.

I had the battery drain warning a few months after getting my M3 too, but every fortnight or so it lives on a CTEK MX5.0 for the weekend and it's been perfect.

The M3 does seem to have bags of grip, but it's got enough grunt to break that traction seemingly anywhere (my car's geo feels very aggressive though).

My car's economy is probably about 4-5 mpg shy of the M135i I had before it, so I really don't feel that it's that bad (18-19mpg on average).

Like others have said, I also drove mine around with the windows open until the weather turned foul. The noise is SO addictive.

Hope you enjoy your new car.

Car looks nice Mike, really like the colour. Are the mirrors/vents/grills black or carbon? Will you be doing a Readers' Cars thread about it?

Thanks Grant, they are black, ill do a Readers car some time soon. Still learning the car and what it does so not been able to really enjoy it plus first trip to work and it was torrential rain and everyone driving cautious so no opportunity to really stretch its legs yet. Compared to the Megane which was fun to boot even when there was not a whole lot of room the M3 needs some breathing space. I am not used to is the engine braking when letting off the throttle its quite noticeable and my judgement of speed through corners isnt good with this car yet.

Im averaging 19mpg now I think, 185 miles done and estimated 85 left - fine if I can get 230 miles to a tank. Surprisingly the estimated range seems quite accurate as in Ill do a 15 mile trip and itll drop 15 to 20 miles depending on how I drove.

I need a new battery, I would like a new exhaust, Id like wheel spacers, GTS Gearbox software.... oh god upgradeitus has started. I need to get warranty sorted and geometry done asap really. Plus I dont know what insurance will be like with mods.

Planning to change the oil in 6 months or so and having an oil analysis done to see if anythings going wrong - oil was changed very recently and I shouldn't need to worry about servicing any time soon.

If you're taking the BMW warranty and intend to renew it on an ongoing basis I'd say get the warranty. It covers most of the car, not just the bearings.

Correct - they did change the seat mountings, might have been at LCI time, but possibly earlier.

I had a 2008 MY car and felt that the seating position was way too high as soon as I got in (I am 6'1") but my 2012 MY car is way better. I don't even have to set it to its lowest position, as that is too low for me.
