Considering a new M5 with some option will be around £95k, when do you think they will be offering discounts?

I am considering buying a M6GC Competition pack, a pre reg one. The option to buy is more than on the M5!

M6GC list £74k, option to buy £34,700.

M5 (my config) £92k, option to buy £30,230.

Seems strange.

The M6GC will list at £100k or more if it has many options - the £74k you are being quoted is after a £25k+ discount. On the other hand the £90k-odd price for the M5 is list and discounts may be hard to achieve if initial demand is outstripping supply.

The M6GC is a much better value proposition especially taking into account the availability of 0% finance. But it’s an outgoing model vs the M5 which is brand new and probably better in many ways.

The M6 is no longer in production, just for the heads up, so you should get a bargain secondhand.

Discounts already available on the new F90 M5, but not at the levels of the outgoing M5/6.

Been offered 9% discount on a purchase & 11.5% on a PCH against my order, with funding rates of around 5.9%APR.

Assuming the dealers are telling the truth, the current waiting list is around 18mths, so the F90 appears to be in excellent demand & thus no financial support available yet from BMW by way of monetary or interest rate incentives.

I am trying to bargain hard, as I am assuming they must be very hard to shift. Not sure I will get the deal though.

I am aware they are no longer in production, but last week there were about 6 unregistered ones in the system, but all high spec c£118k.

I would be very surprised that high spec M5s at just shy of £100k will be flying out the door though.

According to the Dealers they are. As above, 18mth wait currently for a new F90 M5 so they're apparently selling very well indeed.

I would definitely take that with a pinch of salt. I was quoted a build slot for May just a couple of weeks ago from my usual dealer. I honestly can’t see these flying out the door/waiting list without massive support. Early adopters will undoubtedly pay a heavy price for the pleasure. Why would things be different this time round?

Is the M6GC definitely out of production?

When I looked recently, BMW’s website showed new car finance deals (~£26k contribution and 0%) and configuration options for M6GC but not coupe - so assumed they had pulled the plug on one but not the other.

So one of the dealers is lying as i'm told the first customer production slots are late June/early July, with the first Customer cars arriving late July. Next wave are September build for October delivery & today if an order's placed then the build slot would be Spring 2019 at the earliest. Also been told some press/dealer cars are being built for delivery late April/early May, but no Customers cars until mid/late Summer.

The E60 M5 carried a premium for the early cars due to demand, the F10 M5 never did for some reason & unless i'm being fed B/S (which is possible), the F90 is also in demand, hence the current waiting list.

I'm fairly happy at a discount of around 10-11% for a launch car, as the E60 M5 was carrying a dealer premium for the first 3 months with launch cars being around £7k over list.

Must admit I haven't checked the UK configurator, but at least the Belgian and German ones are both featuring the M6GC (at a 140.000 euro starting price, I might add, without dealer contributions...)

Not quite. The deals are still available, visit a dealer. My previous post mentioned there were 6 within the network. I specifically saw one on the list at Sytner Haroldwood.
I am still awaiting a response from my offer, a pre reg with 0%.
No more factory orders though.

I'm confused as to why dealers are offering 10% discount against an 18 month waiting list .

Has anyone on here actually ordered one ?

Offering discounts to those people queueing out of the door is just bks.

You just demonise those near the front of the queue.

Isn't the idea to balance supply and demand to support the asking price?

Discounts of any significance will be mid next year IMO.

At a guess, different groups of dealers will have different allocation & thus given this info came from my dealer (Inchape Thames Ditton), it's likely other dealer groups 'could' get a car quicker than 18mths. Also i'm assuming that's 18mths from now, so in reality only a 12mth wait from when the first customer cars are due in July.

My order's still live & due for delivery in July (first Inchape customer car). That said, i'm not 100% sure i'll continue through to delivery yet so may let my slot go. Still in final negotiations with Inchape, although my order was placed & deposit given in October.

The discounts according to what i've been offered so far are 9% for a purchase & 11.5% for a PCH, with rates only slightly discounted to 5.9% APR.

My order was placed a few weeks before the BMW order system opened for the F90 M5 (actually ended up delayed by a few days due to some option pricing issues) & on the basis mine was the first slot in their system & that some level of discount was offered. Was very clear that i wouldn't be paying even close to list & although i'd hoped for more discount, hence my trepidation in continuing through with delivery.

Phoned a couple of dealerships with regard to the M5 sales and NONE had any orders taken.
This could impact discount in the first year IMO. IF that was the norm across the UK.

I had a chat with my guy Tuesday this week and they only have two orders and it's not selling. BMW are currently not supporting the car as they are say the 3 or 4M's but he expects they will do given time. he also thinks it's bloody expensive which is putting people off albeit it comes well spec'd as standard.

He told me if I ordered now I cold have one at launch or within a month or so after.

But, it's not for me currently.

Excellent . Sounds like I won't have to wait as long as I thought to get used one at a good price ! ( Mind you if they don't sell any , there won't be an used ones . )

Or get a great lease on a new one like they offered on f10's .

That would be interesting and worth investigating if they offer similar lease deals yes However my tiny brain suggests they won't offer silly deals as 2013 nono
