Paul - I have no issue at all with PCH, in fact our nursery/shopping hack is on PCH.

I just felt that when people are considering/talking about finance options on cars touching £100k, any levels of discount should be 100% clear. IMO that Inchcape quoted 11.5% is very misleading as it’s not actual or in any way relevant to a PCH.

Perhaps, but if it wasn't there then everything would be 11.5% more expensive as the assumed rentals with no 11.5% discount would be 11.5% higher.

So what do you PCH experts reckon the monthly cost might be on a base car with a minimum (I guess that means three months) deposit over three years at launch time?

Now totally on the fence as to whether i'll proceed to lock down the spec of mine, which appears to be required by the end of Feb, so may bin my order & get my deposit back.
I’m sensing you’ve finally checked out the E63s? 😉

Incidentally, I’ve received several calls from BMW dealers chasing to see if I’m interested in the new M5. Past experience tells me that wouldn’t be happening if the launch had been a huge success.

Not had a look yet & not sure i really fit the AMG brand & they've never appealed to me before, but may take a look towards the Spring as no rush to do anything yet.

Well this becomes more interesting as i'm hearing very conflicting tales, so somethings not right.

I've made a couple of enquiries elsewhere & have been getting the details Inchape have given me confirmed. That being 'our allocation for this year is sold'. Now Inchape told me that different Dealer groups dependant on size will get different allocation levels, as BMW UK themselves have a limited allocation for the UK this year. Inchape being one of the largest will have a fairly decent slice of the cake, so perhaps buyers have chosen a larger dealership group to supply & a few smaller groups still have availability.

Now i'd be pained to believe what i'm told by any car dealer, but if Inchape are lying, they'd be very easily caught out & i'm hardly a niave buyer, which they know as they lost my F10 M5 orders to Stratstone at the last minute.

Got a couple of friends approaching other dealer groups this week, so should get a better picture of who's right/wrong.

Given myself until the end of the week to make my final decision.

Just seen the F90 M5 in Munich airport. Having had one of each of the last 2 generations of M5 I really wanted to like it. Styling looks a good evolution from the F10 and I really liked the front.

BUT the gap between the wheel and body absolutely killed it for me. It had the ‘regular’ 5 double-spoke alloys but unless it was sat on shipping blocks (I am would be amazed if they displayed a car that way) it looked ridiculous.

Perhaps the CP will sort it once it is released although the drop there is typically pretty minimal?

I intend to go N/A for my next car (after spending a weekend with the latest R8 which made me remember how much more fun to drive a non-turbo motor is) but I have always had a soft spot for M5s and I am disappointed.

Decision not fully made, but am certainly swaying towards ditching my build slot & getting my deposit back.

That said, have been hearing from a few sources over the last couple of weeks that my dealer 'may' be telling the truth & if you wander into a dealership today to order one, you're looking at Summer 2019 before you're likely to see it. Still some further checks to do, but as above i'm losing the love.

Coopers have slots and I said when can I expect one, they say late Summer and they have NO orders.
Could be the Europeans are jumping on the sales wagon!!!

Strange, as i know of 2 F90 M5 orders with Coopers (one's from Ipswich, but can't recall where the other was ordered), the first of which was ordered not long after mine (less than a week) has an expected delivery of December 18 & the other is May 19.

Perhaps they just wanted to look after your deposit for a while & would string you along with "it should be here soon", only to arrive next Summer.
