I was due to go to have a look and drive this morning(Saturday) but received a call at 18:22 last night telling me that a deposit had been placed on it - disappointed, but congratulations to the new owner. From the video I received it looks superb outside at least. I couldn't really tell about the inside.

I have to say the customer service I received since making the initial call last week has been very poor, possibly because I had a trade-in, possibly because they had the other buyer all along, possibly because I said from the outset that I'm a proper picky bd - not sure, but nowhere near the service I've had in the past from Arden (Maidstone) or Vines for example.

Now looking into releasing ourselves form the dreaded PCP on the sacrificial car, selling privately and sitting like 'coiled string' waiting to pounce for the next one which fits the bill. It took me 18 months to find the right M Roadster which I've had for 10 years now (picky bd), so patience will have to come into play. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of it!

Back to having many search windows open and just willing the next good low mileage one to appear... and planning upgrades and mods (tasteful of course) and Sunday Services.

To the new owner - well done, enjoy! If you are from around Kent by any chance drop me a PM, would love to see it.

Had to laugh at this sorry but infeel your pain. I think Cobham had quite a few people looking at the white one. They would barely entertain me. You'll see me winging about Cobham in my m3 thread.

Good luck. Picking a Monte carlo up today all being well since I missed out on the other Monte Carlo on AutoTrader that's not too far from Cobham actually. Mist admit i thougut the white one was a bit pricey.

I too was interested in that car too. In fact I first enquired about that car over two weeks ago. At that stage is was being prepped in their workshop and no pics were up on the site. Despite numerous phone calls and a visit I never saw the car. I called on the morning of the pics going online to be told that the car had sold an hour ago!!!!! The response from BMW Cobham has been st and I complained and received a feeble apology from them. It did look like a nice car in the pics. I had an apologetic call from one sales man who had forgotten to send me pics and a video, saying that the car was sold subject to a viewing this weekend and he knew nothing about the sale!!!!! Clearly BMW Cobham must have another income stream because they seem un interested in selling cars!!!!! fking useless!!!

Almost a carbon copy of what happened to me. I was told that a video has been sent but a new one was recorded anyway (why not re-send the original?) No responses until I sent an email giving them the opportunity to live up to their Sounds like they don't know their round parts from their pointy bits. I'm just deliberating how to 'communicate my disappointment' however I don't expect they will be too bothered or that it will make any difference.

Sorry to hear you missed out OP

Dealers usually offer a reservation option where you give them £200 holding deposit subject to viewing...did they not offer this?

Good shout Lord T - no that wasn’t offered or I would have taken it up. I think they probably had a better deal in the pipeline without a trade-in.

A bit of honesty and responses to my questions would have made all the difference. Sounds like they had a few bites on this car and whilst I appreciate how much time it would take to keep everyone up to date and informed, they shouldn’t then ram the “first class customer service” and outstanding customer experience rubbish at us if they are unable to or won’t deliver.

Leaves a bitter taste and renewed determination to find the right Car.

Have had this before as well.. it's very frustrating when they all appear to pride themselves on their customer service and professionalism.

I understand that some more special and/or performance cars will draw more attention and unfortunately by default a larger than normal number of timewasters too; however, what grinds my gears is taking the time to call someone to introduce myself, get their email address, write an email asking relevant information/questions about the car (nothing too anal, general history/condition stuff) and then either being ignored or getting a reply where not all of my questions are answered. Putting in a little effort to address my query properly would actually help us both because once I have all the info I require, I can either continue my interest in the car or decide not to take things further and remove myself from their pool of interest.

Doesn't help your situation OP, but you're not alone, I feel you pain and have lived the multiple tab life on numerous occasions. laugh

I think if you want a car you've got to put yourself in a position to give the first refusal, no point in moaning about it if you can't.

No car salesman is going to do anything other than sell the car to the customer in front of them.

e92 M3s are getting popular as people realise just how good they are and that engine isn't going to be bettered (in a BMW anyway) and they didn't sell that many of them having launched the car into the teeth of the banking crisis, so if you want a good one you've got to put some effort in I would say.

If it was me I'd go have a look at this frozen edition, pictures don't do it justice great looking car in frozen Silverstone interior is cool as well.

Amazingly I have had a positive response from BMW Park Lane and I am viewing a Blue ltd edition M3 today. Only slight question mark is the car isn't a Comp.Pack model.

I recall reading on M3 Cutters that some tech guy can code your standard EDC with the Competition pack software if that helps.

Then I assume it's just the lowering, surely that must be possible and the wheels though the black wheels do suit the color.

I have never driven a comp pack, but have driven a limited edition with DCT and loved it.

I considered the Frozen edition car linked to earlier, but its over 48K miles so a bit too high on both miles and price for me. Looked at a blue limited 500 edition at BMW park Lane on Sunday and bought it!!! Pick up on Friday.

Picked the car up today from central London, so far only driven in traffic and slowly over the millions of speed bumps and rubbish roads that London has to offer!!!Had a short blast down the M3 as far as M25 to investigate the high speed potential!!! First impressions are a very easy and comfortable car to drive, certainly fast!! I have yet to drive it in full sport mode and on more challenging A and B roads. From the off, I had it in sport using the paddles to change gear but power and edc setting switches not illuminated.

I have yet to drive it in the M mode and need to set up the M-Drive to the most bonkers setting to have for the moments when I wish to use its full potential. Pics below.

Lovely colour. There's a PH meet in Cobham not far from that stealership during the better weather if you can make it. I'm based in Byfleet. Guy named Dom organises it.

I find S 4 the best for M mode as 5 can be quite a jolt mid corner and it'll upset the car at speed. I leave the power setting in normal as throttle response becomes razor sharp.
