I've been driving M cars for nearly 15 years and I don't think I've ever seen one launched that people didn't complain about.

Really? Top gear test driving it normally starting up the comment wasit was as flattery as a TdI BUT then you find the M button and all is forgiven. Also the tiny fuel tank plus terrible mpg was also flagged - though it’s no worse than the C6 RS6

I've said this several times before, but the F10 M5 was far from only being a straight line demon, on track it could hang with the big dogs all day long.
Now whilst I couldn't stay out as long driving at 9/10ths as the GT3's, i could certainly lap very close to as quick & that was on a damp Spa circuit with temps only just above zero. I was able to post a 3:01 when the 991 GT3's were only just able to hit 3:00, so like for like they were lapping within a second.
My M5 had no handling enhancements other than H&R Sports Springs & it was on standard steel discs but with Pagid RS29's. The greatly improved pads probably gave me 3secs per lap.

Not sure if it makes any difference but the E63 S 2014 v the F10 CP nothing in it at the 1/4.
