I've had mine for over 3 years and it hasn't skipped a beat. I did extend the warranty though just in case.

They do seem to be holding up well

I love my petrol f10,and now f10 m5 are sub 30k they are looking very tempting. I only do 8k miles a year and the insurance was only an extra 50 quid when I looked.

There has definitely been a price adjustment as the new car comes to the market. If I had 80 grand it wouldn't be spent on an M5 but at this price point if you need a fast, decent sized car that can do everyday comfort it's got to be right up there. The engine performance really does make a compelling case for itself even if the AMG units are more naughty sounding.

She's mine! Did the deal yesterday with a very fair trade in on my Z4MC. Freshly serviced (not needed but I always like new oil!) and for them to price match ALA on the gap cover which was nice (from 600+ to £210!).
Crikey these things don't hang about do they? Set the speed warning at 94 leptons as I adjust to the new normal in an attempt to hold onto my licence!

Very nice indeed I do like the 19s and the colour is fantastic. Did you take a PCP out of interest?

Congrats!! Lovely colour. What spec?

I found one locally to me and when I enquired about it the dealer said they've taken it off sale due to a drivetrain fault appearing, though I could still buy it at reduced price of 24k if I wanted to. Price was still too high IMO considering the fault risk (wbac was 22k) but had the option list been more than barebones I'd have considered it. Search continues. As does the procrastination.

24k with a fault is ridiculous, there's the Hampshire BMW car on for 29k, well spec'd and AUC. I'd buy that one (nearly did) assuming a deal can be struck. Mine is stock spec which I thought might be a bit of a shame but the reality is I don't use it everyday and it has more than I know what to do with. The HUD is great and I can't see that I'm missing out particularly, I couldn't stretch to a competition pack which is the only thing is be interested in as an option. Mileage was important to me as I only do 4-5k a year (I'm weird in that most of my miles are on a motorbike) so if I keep up the warranty it should hold the value very well. I covered the cost in cash, I'm either leasing or buying outright. I'd never finance again, it just doesn't make sense to pay interest and depreciation.

Doesn’t the same era Nissan GTR take he F10 M5 to the cleaners?

Just watched Autocars Steve sutcliffe vs
The 0-100mph in D for both
GTR 7.34seconds
M5 nearly 10 seconds...

The S it was over 2 seconds slower

Well it lost 5-0 in the tests given.

No way is it 10 seconds to 100 unless you only use one gear. More like 8. Plus it is an ordinary 5 door saloon with a big boot and costs about 26 grand - does a GTR or E63s do that?

He likes to post and get a reaction, it's quite child like, best to ignore him.

Lovely car btw, enjoy!

You’d best tell that to Steve Sutcliffe and Autocars hasn’t you.

Check before you jump to the wrong conclusion.

It’s quite pleasing to counter a challenge with facts.

Apparently not according to this head to head test by Autocar. They are not known to favour one over another or make up results.

Also Autocar is part of the Haymarket group (ie the owner of Pistonheads).

Why do you say such nasty cruel things? Strange behaviour.

Check your facts Wills2 before making such derogatory comments. Not nice Mr Wills2.

Alot of other tests have the time around 8ish for the same dash so I'd say this test is the odd result but either way it's irrelevant. It's a fking quick car!

Agreed (and I’m looking for one currently) but it’s an interesting test by a reputable auto magazine which even though it can do 7’s in reality for most people off the line traction limited it will be around a E55K 0-100mph time.
In gear different case - though Wills2 and others have flagged they have Traction control flashing at 80mph or one said 100mph.

Wills2 what are your considered thoughts on the video that I had previously stated Steve Sutcliffe had made which came out with the results posted and you rubbished it.

I’m assuming you will view the video - no response clearly is eating humble pie 😉

Agree completely. 24k was a ludicrous. I was thinking WBAC (22k) less 10-15% for the fault. No problem with bare bones spec as they are a great spec anyway compared to normal f10. It's just that there is no shortage of m5 around so either the price or spec would have to be very special to take a risk on a faulty one. I have a 530i f10 and tbh its probably quick enough for me but the m5 brings so much customisation like steering weight and adjustable suspension. Plus the DCT which I'd prefer over the torque converter. The 500 odd BHP is icing on an already great cake smile

Enjoy the car, sounds ace.

Can always count on welshbeef to try to ruin a thread. Please do not buy an F10 M5, no one wants you to have one and we do not want to have to suffer any more pathetic posts from you than we do in this section. Thanks.

Sadly in response to this I am looking for one / medium term so will be joining the fold at some point 😉.
When I do trust me lots more posts in the M section as if them be part of the M crew + PH M meets no doubt (if that sort of thing still happens)

That's the value of M5's about to plummet
