M5 nearly 10 seconds...
9.04 secs is not 'nearly 10' So mid 7’s v 9 seconds in D.
Now what I was expecting people to say - it’s not in DS or the M diff fully active etc max settings which would improve it. Ie that time unless wet anyone should get Day in day out

it's all a bit sad isn't it...
I actually feel sorry for you.
Are you actually disagreeing with Steve sutcliffe (Autocar) or somehow annoyed I’m quoting him?I actually feel sorry for you.
I don’t understand what’s sad about a 5-0 test apart from the losing side. Didn’t you yourself state you’ve seen the TC light flashing at 80mph so either you have st tyres or you cannot deploys full power on U.K. roads until way beyond U.K. speed limits.
Pick up those toys and put them back in the park then arty on - you challenged I provided you went quiet now midnight after clearly beer you pile up again say no more

If the throttle response and gearbox are in the lowest settings it will short shift and not make maximum power. It's a comfort / economy set-up.
You need use shift manually or have the gearbox in full attack mode to reach the redline.

Can an owner clarify what Steve Sutcliffe means in that YouTube Vid when he states putting it in D. If the throttle response and gearbox are in the lowest settings it will short shift and not make maximum power. It's a comfort / economy set-up.

If the Datsun GTR is so good, why not buy one of those and leave the M5 to those who want a better car for the 99% of the time when you're not trying to be a racing driver?
I pick mine up on Friday and I'm very excited.
Never had a proper BMW M - closest I've been was an E82 135i with the Birds suspension.
Also never had a car with relatively modern tech (the F-Type was woeful).
Hoping the 3 month old boy agrees and enjoys the back of it as we'll be schlepping across Europe soon after picking it up.

Excellent. Any details/pics? Never had a proper BMW M - closest I've been was an E82 135i with the Birds suspension.

Went out for a quick blast today, on full bore attack mode this thing is shockingly quick. You really need some.self restraint as it just doesn't stop accelerating. I'm using 3rd for full throttle overtakes etc and with MDM on the wheels kick out of you're too abrupt. The gear shifts are so quick it's crazy. This is the first dual clutch car I've owned and it's amazing. Super relaxed when you want around town, perfect blips when you want, super fast shifts when you need it. I also pinned open the exhaust valves today (zip ties are fine they are no where near the actual exhaust) and it makes a nice difference around town and start up. A bit more bass rumble is welcome. Might look into more aggressive tone options as it still feels quite muted compared to my previous set ups but otherwise I'm in love this car is incredible! Genuine Jekyll and Hyde personality.Never had a proper BMW M - closest I've been was an E82 135i with the Birds suspension.

It’s an LCI in Pure Metal Silver with black interior. It’s kinda a weird spec.
H/K
M adaptive seats
Soft closing doors
Electric boot
Reversing camera
Rear entertainment (kid tellies)
A bunch of BMW individual interior bits. Black ceiling, some rear reading lights, some other stuff.
Only have the dealer pics, this is the best of them (before the wheels get refurbed):

I think he left it in D1, auto with the lowest response setting. It hangs on to the gears longer in D2 and redlines in D3.
In M the three levels are largely about the shift speed and the release of the clutch. It's very aggressive in M3.

The wheels let it down like you say but that will soon be sorted. Enjoy!
