Ive got a quote from a southern dealer with 20% discount, however the finance is at 3.9%.

I take it, they either give you 0% APR and a smaller discount or a larger discount and 3.9% APR? I have asked them to confirm why they cannot offer 0% APR, awaiting their response.

What is the total car ownership cost over the term one vs the other.

If your wanting to buy and that’s the sole differentiator then this will make your choice for you

Not only that but I think the GFV/residual value is £2.5k-£4k less than it used to be too. Needs to be a huge discount to get any where near the great deals of last year. That's when financing anyway.

Best deal I've seen ATM is around £15k off from Cooper/Inchcape.

No I mean deposit plus monthlies what’s the price ignore “discount”
That’s the £ price your paying for 3/4 years - maybe there is equity in it but that’s a quality problem to have nearly all don’t though.

Total cost of ownership over 3 years 8K pa (less tax and servicing obviously)

£30,433.45 so £10,144.48 PA - i don't consider that a great deal!

GFV = £27,917.89

These cars are common as muck, like a Golf R, but a bit more expensive.

Their residuals are shocking, can you just imagine trying to sell one privately?

I think there is far better value and driving satisfaction to be had from an E92 M3 or even the classic E46 M3.

Infotainment is worlds apart though.

But I’d rather the V8

I'm toying with the idea of an NBT retrofit to my E90 M3.

That's not the 3.9% one is it? If it's based on the 46K car its about 11.2% apr I think.

Noting that these are on the run out, will the 0% apr ever return do you think ?

I think it’s a bit like dominos pizza. You can buy any size for £9.99 or they’ll give you 50% off if you spend X amount. The finance rate at the moment is 3.9% but the discounts in some cases are up to £20k. The chances are if they bring 0% back they’ll probably hold back on some of the discount. It’s six of one and half a dozen of the other

I'd imagine most of the stock BMW were trying to shift was snapped by end of 2019 Q4 when they were offering >£20k discounts and 2.9% APR. That was just the new unregistered cars, there was a large number or pre-registered cars appearing for sale in December too.

It all depends on what stock they have left and how quickly they want it sold. I'd imagine F82 M4 production is minimal if not ceased now the new 4 series is going on sale in early 2020 so production (or setting up the production line) is in progress?

Be interesting to see the Q4 number of new registrations for M cars when DVLA release them.

I bet they'll be reasonably high - I've done my bit to help and got one for Christmas with Ultimate Pack and just over 20k off at 2.9% smile

All I can say is, don't kid yourself thinking you don't want one... Sell the kids and wife and have a couple :P
