I have just signed on the line for my order for an M2 competition.

I've gone for long beach blue after having a long-standing obsession with Estoril blue - I can bring myself to go for dull colour, my thoughts are that it is a car that works really well with a brighter colour.

As anyone got any experience of tracking the order through the system? I've been told it's around 14 weeks delivery.

With my Audi a couple of years back I was given an order number and was able to log in and track exactly what was happening in terms of data through going into production and even able to track it as it worked its way to the UK - I know it's a bit sad, but to me interesting nonetheless.

You should be able to get a tracking number/order number from your dealer which should allow you to do this via the BMW website. What options did you go for (if any)? I've just had an email from my lease company that mine is on track to be ready for March and I will be having it delivered at the end of April.

Thanks, This sounds very similar to the Audi system, I have asked the lease company to provide the details once the order is all confirmed.
I haven't ordered anything extra on it as they do tend to make the lease price jump quite considerably. I am half tempted just to add heated seats - I would have thought that would help with the residual value, but they don't seem to see it that way.

Did a deal on a M2C in the last couple of days, went for 29 mile Hockenheim/Orange DCT with Plus/Comfort, and a few other bits and bobs, wanted the big brakes but those cars were too much for me. Delivery on Thursday... Can't wait!

Had my manual Hock Silver since mid Nov now. 1800 miles.

Fooking marvelous. That's all I can say. And the silver looks great filthy dirty too which is good this time of year...

Blows previous M6 GC into the weeds in all areas except straight line pace, but that is not to important to me.

LOL blows an M6 GC, in nothing but tight cornering, everything else a DREAM.

It's Hockenheim Silver, I personally think it's a great colour, different in every light smile

It does. I seem ONE Hockenheim silver on my commute. First of all I thought I was seeing three different cars wink

I wish it was a dream considering how much the M6 GC cost me! On all but runway smooth straight roads the M6 was a crashy, overweight oversized missile with wooden steering and very little driver feedback.

A superb GT yes granted.

As I don't drive on runways or many straight roads, the M2 wins all round for me. It even fits in parking spaces too!

I'm coming up to the running in service. What prices are people getting quoted for theirs?

I paid £238 for my M4 CP run in service so it should be around that

That's good! I was quoted from £300 to over £400, but after someone said on here they got Tamworth Sytner down to £255 I got my local dealer to price match that after some pressure (as Tamworth is a local alternative for me).

They also said (insisted, checked and confirmed) they needed it for at least 6 hours "to cool down fully", so I arranged to work from home, took my laptop to the dealers and settled down in the coffee area to work - and the car was done in under an hour, numpties.

No more BMW dealers for me, now it's had its run in, it will be going to Darren Wood in Manchester from now on.

What gets done at the running in-service on an M2 other than engine and diff oil change?

Usually gets a quick wash. If you're lucky they hoover it and change your radio station.

That's it just diff and engine oil, filter, plug washers etc, plus the amazing "vehicle inspection" item which is just there to make the cost up to whatever they quoted.

Mine had some pending software updates too as all my presets, short cuts the lot were all gone.
