Am I missing something?
Nope. It's all about value, not price. People who want brand new cars pay a hefty premium for doing so, but place high value on their car being new, whether that's about warranty, or spec, tech, or ego. But that's a price they're happy to pay.
Other people aren't bothered about their car being new, or simply don't place enough of a value on it to be worth paying the premium. Those people generally value 'bang for buck' and like to maximise what they can get for what they want to spend.
It's great that both these types of people exist, because one literally cannot exist without the other. Also, PH members would have nothing to argue about.

An excellent summary! People who want brand new cars pay a hefty premium for doing so, but place high value on their car being new, whether that's about warranty, or spec, tech, or ego. But that's a price they're happy to pay.

Fair points and, yes, I am grateful to the people who buy them new!People who want brand new cars pay a hefty premium for doing so, but place high value on their car being new, whether that's about warranty, or spec, tech, or ego. But that's a price they're happy to pay.

Now dealers have their final stock of these are there any good campaigns for getting the last cars shifted? Are BMW still offering 2.9% and what kind of dealer contribution?
2.9% still there but contributions have dropped significantly. Think you'll have to haggle harder, Stratstone still seem to be doing the best offer (but not as good as Q3) and Marshall's equivalent offer has gone unfortunately.Sandals may be OK but they're are lots of pre-reg cars coming on to AUC so may be able to bag an even better bargain.

That's a shame it's dealer contribution I'm haggling for. I'll see what I can do. Sandals may be OK but they're are lots of pre-reg cars coming on to AUC so may be able to bag an even better bargain.
