M tax right there!

Had to replace many sensors on an e46m3,

They were around the £90 mark from memory

So £127 sounds about right!,

In warranty or classed as consumable?

Upgrading to an F80 last month thought I had got away from ridiculous part prices. Lol

Why would you think it would be cheaper?

F80 M3 quality lower than that of the E90 M3 my wife had previously. No doubt about it.

Hmmm you'll have to be more specific mate as that's just a sweeping statement about someone else's car.

Myself I've had 4 across the 3 generations e46 e92 and f80.

And I have no idea where you're getting your info from, did you take the car apart and compare the components? Test them?

No reason, I was just being flippant. Having ran an e46 for 5 years which cost on average £137 per month to fix various things thought parts might last a bit longer an a newer model.

Really under new Illusions running costs will/can be brutal

I’ve had circa 8 E46’s, 3 E90/2, a new M4 DTM and the f80 which is my wife’s.

In an attempt to lose weight the metal is thinner I’m sure. Push the bonnet. The leather is less quality I feel. Fixtures and fittings floppy and the lots of items that are no longer fitted I.e rear arm rest, cup holders.

On top of this, to me it’s far less refined, loads of road noise, I suspect from a lack of sound proofing. It doesn’t feel as solid.

Sorry, that’s how I feel.

Regarding the availability of cheaper sensors on ebay.... don't waste your money. my last BMW needed a crank position sensor and i used 3 ebay ones in a 6 month period before spending 4x the price on a genuine one that significantly improved the engine performance /reliability /mpg.

No I bought a BMW item from the dealer.

2 minute job but people saidvthe old sensor won’t clean up but I’m not so sure. When I took it out it had a large about of dirt piled up on it. I’ll save it and try it when the other side fails
