So I'm out of the run in period but still not dared a full bore blast from standstill. In for a Penny in for a Pound, who can explain how to setup launch control? I read the manual but don't "get it"

Loads of YouTube videos TX.
Yes. It says launch control active with a checkered flag
Everything in sport plus
Manual mode
DSC fully off
Press hard on the brakes then press accelerator all the way to the floor. Release brakes.
Don't worry about shifting as it will shift for you as long as you're in launch control mode.

Looking at the M5 at £69k and a Alfa QV at £60k which do you think will hold its value best over 3-4 years?
I think the Alfa will be more fun but the M5 has a far nicer interior,I know this is a BMW thread but which would be your choice because the huge discounts make them unlikely competitors?

I would assume the M5 at 3 years old 20k miles will trade in for £40-43k. The earliest F90's were registered Dec 17? Retailing for 63K and that seems high given current deals. Im out of touch with dealer margins but assume they'd be a buyer at £55K. But more like £50K given what we know now.I think the Alfa will be more fun but the M5 has a far nicer interior,I know this is a BMW thread but which would be your choice because the huge discounts make them unlikely competitors?
They are definitely a buy with the heart choice. The very last of the F10's 2017 are retailing for £43K so that gives you an idea where they'll be.
If you're worried about depreciation it's not for you

Your probably right because I hate depreciation. They are definitely a buy with the heart choice. The very last of the F10's 2017 are retailing for £43K so that gives you an idea where they'll be.

New owner question. I'm using Esso 97RON because I don’t have a Shell station nearby with 98RON. Has anyone found any issues doing this?
In my F10 I have found 97RON fuel absolutely fine - though tend to use Shell or Tesco 99. Perhaps if you were running it on a timed drag strip you might find a tiny measurable difference but for day to day driving it doesn’t seem in any way inferior.theboss said:

I always use TESCO99 or Sainsbury 97 in all my "M" cars never had a problem ever, I tried SHELL and no difference in performance just a silly price. Zarco said:

Can't imagine why that hasn't sold. Was offered a very high spec Donnington Comp pre reg yesterday from same group for only £4.5k more so still deals out there. I’m going to buy but will wait until next quarter as non of the pre reg Comps have the spec I want and hopefully further offers to come.... BMW seem desperate to offload the prebuilt non Comp cars this quarter so bargain hard and enjoy.

How is everyone getting on with the M5 comps? Still loving them?
I am still consistently blown away with how good this car is. Does everything so well and is a monster at the push of a button.
Still love mine! Whilst it sounds great I wonder if there is a way to get it sounding better though? For such a big V8 it kinda feels held back to me.I am still consistently blown away with how good this car is. Does everything so well and is a monster at the push of a button.
