F90 M5 Competition

Yep, meant to be a better daily, however at that price, id rather have a pre LCI M5 (non comp). If they were say £40-50K, different story.
Try a LCI Comp. I’ve had both and the M8 suspension makes a big difference to the ride in the LCI. Obviously there’s less bangs and pops and if that’s your thing then perhaps the pre-LCI M5 (non comp) is the best choice for you.I have been looking for a LCI Comp and really want one with the B&W sound system. Does anyone have this? Is it any good? There only seem to be a small handful with this option so I am limiting myself if insist on having it. Seems odd that so few have it…….
I also quite fancy the laser lights, anyone have a view on them?

Mine has the Entertainment, Tech Plus and Comfort Packs so has the B&W system. It’s a lovely sound but even though I I had the H&K system on the pre-LCI I don’t feel qualified to make a comparison.I also quite fancy the laser lights, anyone have a view on them?
I don’t have the laser lights but can say that the ‘standard’ lights are some of the best I have experienced, especially when on auto high beam.
When are you wanting to buy? I was thinking of selling in Sept this year because I’m not using it enough (some pics above in this thread).

I have it on mine, and it is a rare option - it makes the interior quite special with the ambient lighting and the stainless steel speaker grilles. Sound wise it is very good, on par with the B&O system I had in an X5 F15 but I don’t think it is really amazing. If I had to spec a new car, I would settle with the H&K systemI also quite fancy the laser lights, anyone have a view on them?

I had Laserlights on a 2018 740d so much the same I would imagine. If you consider they are like high beam on your high beam. However...I also quite fancy the laser lights, anyone have a view on them?
You have zero control over them. You turn on 'adaptive' and the car lights the lasers as and when it sees fit; the rest of the time the lights work as adaptive LED's. The lasers only come on when going over 30 mph and when there is zero other traffic around, so essentially very dark. They are very good and do extend the range of the lights down the road, but I think the adaptive LED's are not really lacking at this point anyway.
I would see them as a 'nice to have' but not a deal breaker. Not sure how much they are on an M5 (they were a £2500 option on the 740d but I didn't buy it new!). I wouldn't pay for them if I was speccing new.
Thanks for the responses. Would still like the B&W but it seems to be limiting my options so much I think I will leave it.
Are there any ‘must have’ options/is there anything
You wish you had it wouldn’t live without?
Lastly, my current car has my very first light interior and I quite like it, lifts things a little and makes it a nicer place to be. Does anyone have the lighter interior on the LCI and have an opinion?

I have B&O in my M6. It's not nearly as good as I had hoped for. I agree with others, HK is fine unless you can find B&O but I'd not be as concerned about not having it.Are there any ‘must have’ options/is there anything

I picked up my ‘19 plate M5 Comp on Thursday. I’d been looking for a long while going between non-comp and comp, LCI or pre-LCI…. It can make your head spin!
I found the right car for me - I’m an ex-Lotus owner, so the Comp suspension isn’t a problem for me at all; and the sharper steering, whilst retaining the pops and bangs on the overrun sealed it for me.
I’ve had a 996 911 Turbo in the past, but this is a league on again. A weapon when you want it to be, then next minute you can have a back massage whilst sat in a traffic jam.
Any buying advice you can share? After months of “thinking about it”, I am close to offering on a 19 plate comp. Seems c.£60k - £63k is the going rate for a decent spec.I found the right car for me - I’m an ex-Lotus owner, so the Comp suspension isn’t a problem for me at all; and the sharper steering, whilst retaining the pops and bangs on the overrun sealed it for me.

Last great car I had was an F82 M4 CP. loved it but impractical for the family on a regular basis and sold it during lockdown. Now I need something more civilised and discreet for work that can still dust the local golf R and rs3 crowd.
So, aside from catastrophic fuel consumption and comments about the harsh ride (coming from an M4 CP I figure it’s fine) struggling to find a reason not to buy…

Fuel consumption is not bad at all, I've had 4 F90 M5's all giving 23/25 MPG.The later the car the better the ride quality but any is good, on really bad roads it can get a bit noisey but that applies to any performance cars, test drive and buy with confidence.
Thanks for all the replies. My M4 was definitely thirsty but then I never drove it with economy in mind either. I don’t know what mpg I was getting exactly but I think 25-27 is not far off. That was two years ago before a tank of fuel was over £100 though.
Hopefully can line up a deal this week in time for some fun over Easter.
