There seems to be some very good discounts (dealer contribution) for the M4 competition. Is this because it is a run out model? has anyone got any experience of this or can offer any sensible advice. Low £40k brand new with 3.6% Apr looks very tempting.

Can I ask if this deal you’re talking about is in addition to the £599/£599 deals out there at the moment? Which dealer gave you been in contact with?

The 4 Series is one of the oldest in the lineup now. It's looking and feeling dated now. If that doesn't bother you, the deals are great.

Mind you, looking at the deals on almost new models (like M5 and X3M), it doesn't seem you pay much of a premium for them either.

I'd wait.

I saw a brand new M4 comp for a fiver under 40k, at that price it's a good buy, the new M4 will be a 75K+ car with no major discounts for the first year so a different market entirely and won't be out for another year anyway

Brand new for that money?
That would be a good price for a demo or pre-reg poverty spec

Not seeing these for £40k anywhere.
I’m seeing £599 deposit and £599 p/m but not £40k

Shame....

That’s not ‘new’.
That’s a pre-reg and not even on a 69 plate

You see a lot of people slagging off modern cars as not being as fun as the old ones. This is a bloody old car now - so if you want new, but with older tech this is the last chance wink

Superb car, but depends what you want. Think the new one is going to be a decent step up, inside, outside and performance, but most wont get more out of the new one than the current one given laws and that they wont see a track.

I'd have one, except with that old school handbrake I would brian Harvey myself within a week.

If you're wanting a factory order to your own spec - or an unregistered car sitting in dealer stock - I think you're still looking at over £50k for an M4 CP. However, £40k for a pre-reg with a decent spec and nominal mileage still represents a very good deal IMO; not sure why that one at Dick Lovett Swindon is so cheap but if I was in the market for one I'd be very tempted to give them a call!

The Dick Lovett one sold back on 11th November though is still listed annoyingly (I phoned about it just & made some quip as I hung up about they'd be updating their stock on the BMWUK website).

BMWUK have some daft offers currently advertised on new M4CPs sold before the year end... PCP 4ys £489pcm, £5k customer deposit and 8k miles pa with £19.3ks worth of "contributions". If you want to trade up from an earlier M4 as my BIL might, it's an interesting possibility (I'm off to sample the local dealer's coffee & see if it's true!?)
